Tiffany Youngblood has had a passion for books ever since she learned how to read. Growing up in Maryland, she was an imaginative child who created vivid stories in her head, dreaming that one day she would share them with others. This avidness for reading took her down the path of earning a bachelor’s degree in English, professional writing and literature from Frostburg State University in Maryland. “Once I started getting deeper into the creative writing courses, I realized I really enjoyed it and was good at it,” Tiffany shared.
The writer moved to Texas in 2011, where she currently resides in McKinney with Brandon, her husband of eight years, and their two young children. Now the author of two published children’s mystery books, “The Dirt on Mr. Claxton” and “A Rational Explanation,” Tiffany explained that her own childhood adventures, along with watching her children grow and experience life today, come through in her writing as she creates stories that will resonate with young people and their sense of curiosity.
“I want my characters to be amusing and entertaining while being able to also stand on their own. I specifically avoid describing their physical traits because I want readers to see and create a vision of the characters in their own minds, since I had authors who sparked that creativity in me when I was growing up.”
When Tiffany is not working as a counselor’s assistant at Frisco High School or writing her upcoming third chapter book, she loves reading, yoga, and taking walks with her family.
