The NeuLine Clinic is on a mission to redefine primary care. Some of us still remember a time when the family doctor was an integral part of the community. They were the person any member of the family could turn to for help, whether the issue was physical, mental, or even sexual. They knew you and cared about you as a friend and neighbor. They partnered with family members — not just to get them well when they were sick — but to educate them about staying healthy to begin with. The healthcare providers at The NeuLine Clinic feel like it’s time to return to this time-tested model and make it even better. Their motto, “Where prevention meets primary care” is more than just a tagline. It’s a commitment.
Director of Primary Prevention Lucio Gonzales, PA is one of those professionals. “It’s not that we’re trying to take the place of medical specialists but to prevent you from having to go to a specialist in the first place,” he said. “We want to educate our patients about their whole health, so together we can be proactive — not reactive — about keeping them healthy and well. Let’s spend some time and conduct a thorough wellness exam while you’re still feeling great. Then, we’ll educate you about the changes you can make to either get you back to healthy or keep you healthy.”
The NeuLine Clinic model is based on passion and compassion. “You can’t practice healthcare unless you actually care about the health of your patients,” said Lucio, who’s affectionately known as Louie or LG. The NeuLine team demonstrates this care through thoroughness, ease, and accessibility. “We want to be here when you need us. So, we make a point not to overbook. Then we take the time we need to get to know you and gather all the information necessary to create an individualized wellness plan for you. Your initial wellness visit will consist of an hour face-to-face time with your healthcare provider. During that time, we’ll discuss your genetics, eating habits, exercise habits, stress level, sexual health, mental health, obstacles to weight loss, and more.”
And they’ll soon be adding evening and weekend hours (now available by special appointment) to make care even more accessible and convenient. “We appreciate the efforts of urgent care and ER professionals,” Lucio said. “But we know our patients and have a history with them. They need to be able to see us when they need us. So, we’ll be extending our hours to be more accessible to them. Not everyone can afford to miss work to see their healthcare provider. Extended hours will also make it easier to see your care professional without the added stress of missing work.”
Patient education is a big part of The NeuLine Clinic wellness model. “We want our patients to be their own best healthcare advocates,” Lucio said. “After all, who cares more about your health than you do? At least half of the time we spend with our patients is empowering them with the knowledge they need to keep themselves at their best. When a patient understands the ‘why’ behind the care we’re recommending, they’re more likely to adhere to it. We don’t want you to leave our office until you understand why you’re feeling a certain way, the why behind the solution we’re recommending, and everything you can do to live a long healthy life.”
The NeuLine Clinic team believes in addressing the root cause of any medical condition, not merely treating symptoms, as they pop up. “Medication has its place in healthcare but it shouldn’t be an end-all be-all for every condition,” Lucio said. “We want to spend the time it takes to find and fix the underlying problem to irradicate the need for medication. We want to explore all viable treatment options not simply we rely on a pharmaceutical to mask symptoms.”
One way they do this is through their extensive ancillary services which include:
- In-house lab services
- Ambulatory Electroencephalogram (EEG)
- Allergy testing and injections
- Mental health screening
- Carotid Intima-Media Thickness Test (CIMT)
Putting Patients First
“Our goal is to provide an all-inclusive provider office, a true medical home for our patients,” Lucio said. “By including the very latest in diagnostics, our patients can obtain all the care they need under one roof from a provider with whom they have a relationship. Patients aren’t just a number here but the most important part of our wellness team.”
They’ve also added a full line of cosmetic procedures and hormone therapies and provide pediatric care, women’s care, and men’s care so their family of patients can receive all the medical services they need at The NeuLine Clinic. From age five to 95, The NeuLine Clinic wants to be at your side every step of your healthcare journey.
Meet Lucio Gonzales, PA
Born in McKinney and raised in Prosper, Lucio says he’s a “proud Texican.” He couldn’t be happier to be raising his two kids back in McKinney. “Ava is 13 and Noah is 11,” he said. “They keep us busy with school and sports, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. This is a homecoming for me, and I’m proud to help provide this true medical home to my McKinney friends and neighbors.”
