Meet Board-Certified Family Law Attorney and Mediator Jared Julian
Passionate. Persistent. Approachable. Bold. Principled. Ethical. Upbeat. These are just a few words clients use to describe family law attorney and mediator Jared Julian and his legal team. Offering a distinctive combination of compassionate guidance and savvy legal representation to each client to obtain the best outcome, The Julian Firm handles everything from routine family law matters to complex cases involving high-net-worth individuals with extensive personal and business assets, and complicated estates and trusts.
A Passion and a Calling
Jared Julian was destined to become a lawyer. His family was convinced he had the traits to make a great attorney before he entered grade school, and they were right.
Jared graduated from Texas Wesleyan School of Law (now Texas A&M School of Law) in 2001, where he was an associate editor of the school’s law review and served on the Student Bar Association Board of Directors and as Student Bar Association president. He initially pursued a career as a corporate attorney. Soon, he discovered his ultimate calling was family law.
“Family law chose me versus the other way around, and it became my passion,” says Jared. He is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization — an accomplishment only one percent of all Texas attorneys achieve. “Family law enables me to make meaningful connections with my clients and help them during difficult times, which are often confusing and emotionally challenging.”
Not Your Typical Lawyer or Law Firm
Jared, a Super Lawyer honoree from 2018 through 2021, is as passionate about overcoming the usual attorney stereotype as he is about practicing family law. The firm’s thoughtfully crafted mission statement attests to this. (To read it, visit TheJulianFirm.com/about-family-law-firm/mission.)
“We take a holistic approach to family law that includes compassion and developing reasonable goals and expectations, but our representation can also be extremely aggressive when warranted,” he shares.
The Julian Firm team strives to help carry some of the stress for their clients so they can instead focus on becoming their best selves and worry less. “We educate our clients and encourage them to think proactively about the future, so they end up in a better place and situation than when they came to us,” says Jared.
Rest assured, The Julian Firm works hard to fight for the rights of children involved in litigation. “Kids generally benefit from amicable, reasonable solutions. Our goal is to do what is in their best interest,” Jared explains. “It sometimes means that parents need to lay down their swords and shields and work together. Other times require that a parent be steadfast and protective of the children against an abusive or neglectful parent.”
An accomplished mediator with an approximate 95-percent success rate, Jared is skilled at crafting creative solutions while working with the litigators involved and their respective client. “Mediation not only helps the parties lessen the emotional impact of a divorce on the children and themselves, but it also can greatly reduce the monetary toll because it avoids further, drawn-out litigation.”
Talented, Efficient, Collaborative Team
Teamwork is a hallmark of The Julian Firm. Rachel Hodges and William E. Johnson — experienced trial attorneys with extensive litigation experience — and paralegals Jennifer Cline, Jennifer Henson, and Rodney Bernal who have work closely with Jared, collaborating as a close-knit team to best serve clients.
“We regularly review cases as a team and choose the attorney that best fits the client’s circumstances,” Jared says. “William, a 2022 Super Lawyer Rising Star, was a criminal and CPS prosecutor for the Denton County District Attorney’s Office and also served as a specialty prosecutor for the Family Law Drug Court. Rachel was the chief of County Court at Law No. 5 and completed a clerkship with the Honorable Judge Bailey of the 431st District Court of Denton County before serving at the Collin County DA’s office as a felony prosecutor.”
Jared, William, and Rachel have all been invited and regularly speak to their peers, Judges, and community regarding family law issues.
Community and Giving Back
Jared Julian, who grew up in DFW, and his wife, Stephanie, a middle school counselor, live in the Flower Mound area with their two sons, ages 12 and 13, who attend local schools. The family dog, River, often accompanies Jared to the office.
“It’s gratifying to help make a positive difference in people’s lives and contribute to the community where my wife and I live and work and are raising our family,” he says.
Jared serves on the board for Denton County Friends of the Family and is an ardent advocate for victims of domestic violence, so much so that The Julian Firm will not represent perpetrators of domestic violence.
The Julian Firm has successfully served countless clients through some of the most trying, emotionally charged, and transitional times in their lives. They are here to help you, too. When you need a family law attorney, call The Julian Firm and schedule a consultation.
