The fellowship trained, board certified surgeons and subspecialty physicians at Texas Orthopedic Specialists approach every patient, from pediatric to geriatric, with respect and compassion. The team of six doctors offers services for hip, knee, shoulder, hand and upper extremity, and foot and ankle, in addition to joint replacement and sports medicine. Texas Orthopedic Specialists works from two state-of-the-art locations in Bedford and Keller/Alliance.
Meet the Team
Dr. O. David Taunton, Jr.
Dr. Taunton is a joint replacement specialist who has practiced almost exclusively in hip and knee replacement for the past 15 years. He offers comprehensive care to patients with simple and complex disorders of the hip and knee.
“There are many treatment options for patients with joint pain, deformity, or injury,” Dr. Taunton said. “Our goal is to return you to the activities you love and restore your hip and knee function.”
Dr. Howard W. Harris
Dr. Harris is a highly regarded expert in shoulder repair and reconstruction. The focus of his practice and expertise is on shoulder pain and treatment, as well as sports related injuries, dysfunction, and arthritis of the shoulder.
“Pain from an injury should never be ignored,” Dr. Harris said. “We can get you back to the activities you love, whether you are suffering from shoulder arthritis, pain and instability, sports injury, or fracture.”
Dr. Michael L. Nguyen
Dr. Nguyen is a well-respected expert in sports injuries and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, and hip. He also specializes in advanced shoulder reconstruction including minimally invasive rotator cuff repairs, instability repairs, and shoulder replacement.
Dr. Nguyen has extensive experience taking care of athletes at all levels—high school, college, and professional teams. “We give the highest level of care to get you back to the activities you love,” he said.
Dr. Stephen J. Troum
Dr. Troum is a distinguished hand surgeon who offers state-of-the-art care for hands and upper extremities. He received an honorary commission as Surgeon General of Texas in April 2004 from the Texas State Legislature.
“Whether it’s carpal tunnel, arthritis, or sports injuries, if your injury is in the hand or arm, we can take care of you,” Dr. Troum said. “We strive to give patients the best chance for the best outcomes.”
Dr. B. Todd Drury
Dr. Drury specializes in surgery of the hand, wrist, and elbow, but has extensive experience in general orthopedic surgery, as well as all varieties of orthopedic fractures and trauma.
Throughout his career, Dr. Drury has been the team physician for high school, college, and professional athletic programs. “I am dedicated to providing individualized and compassionate specialized orthopedic care to every patient,” Dr. Drury said.
Dr. Sara E. Suttle
Dr. Suttle is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons as well as a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Texas Podiatric Medical Association. She served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, where she trained as a surgical technician before her collegiate and medical training.
“Whether you suffer from plantar fasciitis, arthritis, diabetes, or a sports injury, we will work together to get you back to your daily activities,” Dr. Suttle said.
