Taif Alhashmy, owner of MINTbody Med Spa, became interested in the industry through a personal experience that changed her life. Several years ago, she was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder, that—in Taif’s case—resulted in excess androgen, a male hormone.

“The effects on my body and mind were debilitating,” said Taif. “I was gaining weight, suffering with skin issues, losing hair where I wanted to keep it, and growing hair where I didn’t want it.”

It was the hair issues and the success she experienced through laser treatment that sparked Taif’s interest and launched her career.

“The laser treatment and subsequent hormone therapy I received changed my life,” she said, “and I made a decision then and there that I wanted to help others regain their confidence and sense of self. This is why I’m so passionate about what we do every day.”

Initially, Taif gained her laser tech license and began learning more and more about the industry. Then, in 2017, she opened MINTbody Med Spa & Wellness in Cypress with her team of medical and aesthetic professionals. Each with 15+ years of experience, the MINTbody team includes a medical director, a nurse practitioner, a medical assistant, a client coordinator, and three medical aestheticians/laser techs whose mission is to serve clients with the absolute best in beauty and personal enhancement.

“Our team is highly qualified,” said Taif. “We each have extensive background, training, and experience, and we all undergo monthly continuing education, affording our clients unsurpassed skill in the quality of services and treatments we provide.”

In four short years, MINTbody Med Spa & Wellness is recognized as a leader in the aesthetic industry, and its services and care are nothing short of exceptional. Over the past several years, the spa has garnered Living Magazine Best Of Readers’ Choice awards in three categories — best laser hair removal, best facial treatment, and in 2020, best medical spa.  They are currently working on expansion to additional locations.

With a unique combination of age-defying medical treatments, traditional spa services, and health and wellness options, there is truly something for everyone.

“Our approach is total wellness for the whole family,” explained Taif.

Botox, fillers, and customized facials are a favorite for the MINTbody female client, while the men enjoy the IV treatments and laser hair removal. The teens want skin care and/or facial treatments to target acne. And recently, MINTbody aestheticians have treated clients of all ages for maskne, or mask acne, which involves acne breakouts from wearing a face mask.

“Our motto,” said Taif, “is ‘Your beauty, our touch.’ We are not changing your look; we are just polishing it up with our touch and allowing your natural beauty to shine through.”

During May, Living Magazine readers can enjoy a Signature HydraFacial and Botox (20 units) for $299 (regular price $400). Look for other specials at MintBodySpa.com under monthly specials.

MINTbody Med Spa & Wellness is committed to going beyond beauty basics, offering cutting-edge services and products with proven results that will give you the best personal enhancement and wellness to create the best version of yourself.
