Students Put One Foot in Front of the Other

Participating in National Walk To School Day, students from around The Woodlands grabbed their favorite sneakers and stepped out on the many area paths to school early last month.

Hosted by The Howard Hughes Corporation, students of many Conroe Independent School District elementary and middle schools throughout The Woodlands participated. Puffy Pine Cone, the lovable mascot of The Woodlands, joined the kids on their walk to Bush Elementary one morning.

“National Walk To School Day is a fun way to get to class and forego the bus or the carpool,” said Heath Melton of The Howard Hughes Corporation. “Our 220-plus, interconnected hike-and-bike trails make it easy to enjoy a stroll outdoors to school.”
