Each year, millions of Americans undergo surgical procedures. In all likelihood, it’s not a question of if you will need general surgery, but when. And when you do, it’s great to know you can count on Drs. Buckminster Farrow and Clay Albrecht of Southwest Surgical Associates.
Compassionate, Approachable, Innovative, Experienced
Highly skilled “super docs” Buckminster Farrow, MD, and Clay Albrecht, MD, say there’s nothing they would rather do than be surgeons. Both were drawn to general surgery because of the immediate and positive impact it can have for their patients, including “cures” and an improved quality of life.
At the forefront of their field and up-to-date on the latest procedures and techniques, Drs. Albrecht and Farrow specialize in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. They also perform traditional surgery when appropriate, customizing the procedure to best meet each patient’s unique needs. Not only do they strive to provide the best surgical outcomes for their patients, each places an emphasis on patient comfort, both emotionally and physically, throughout the course of their care.
“I feel blessed to be doing what I think God created me to do,” Dr. Farrow says. “Being a surgeon isn’t just about performing surgery; it’s also about being an advocate. If I see a patient I believe really doesn’t need surgery, I won’t operate just for the sake of it. It’s important to look out for my patients’ best interest.”
Dr. Albrecht says he goes the extra mile to help his patients feel well-cared for, and to let them know what to expect throughout the process, including recovery. “I feel honored that patients have put their trust in me,” he says. “Surgery can be a stressful time for people. I enjoy spending time with my patients, making a real connection with them and helping them feel more at ease.”
