There are many family doctors in the Metroplex, but not all of them offer the kind of personalized touch and compassionate care like the physicians at Sandknop Health Group. All patients, from infants to older adults, receive individualized care and attention from the entire team.
“Dr. Les Sandknop has embedded himself within this community over the past 40 years and has established a family-oriented and reputable practice,” says Dr. Vineeth Kumar. “He places importance on our patients and staff first.”
Many of the patients at Sandknop Health Group have been with the practice for years. One patient raved, “Beautiful office. Very nice people. Always a great experience.” Another patient commented, “Sandknop Health Group has stayed modern on technology. It’s often a one-stop shop as they can do many things right there.”
Whether patients need an annual physical, treatment for acute or chronic illnesses, or they just want to talk to someone about their anxiety, Dr. Kumar is ready to help. He is a board-certified family medicine physician and Dallas native. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University and completed his residency at Baton Rouge General in Louisiana. He was elected chief resident his final year.
Dr. Kumar enjoys getting to know his patients on a personal level and building meaningful relationships. He says it’s especially rewarding when patients refer their loved ones to the practice. “That’s what family medicine is,” he says. “We want to treat the whole family, from children to parents and grandparents. It’s gratifying when patients come in based on a family member’s recommendation.”
Amid the ongoing pandemic, Dr. Kumar says the best thing people can do is get vaccinated. “The Delta variant is significantly more contagious than the alpha variant, so we highly recommend that people wear a mask and those age 12 and up get vaccinated,” he says.
When Dr. Kumar isn’t working with patients, he’s traveling, cooking, or watching the Cowboys or Mavericks. He grew up playing basketball and played on the Division III basketball team at Austin College. Dr. Kumar still plays today. Every Friday morning, he’s on the court, keeping active and staying in shape.
