Your vision plays a critical role in your life. When it’s at risk or compromised, nothing but expert diagnosis and treatment from Rockwall Eye Associates will do. Their highly trained surgeons, Dr. Edward P. Hurst and Dr. Kate Lee, strive to better your quality of sight, and thus improve your quality of life.

Patients Rave About Rockwall Eye Associates

When Lynda and Robin needed cataract surgery, they wisely chose Rockwall Eye Associates. They are thrilled with their remarkable results as well as their overall experience at Rockwall Eye Associates.

Working in the medical field for over 35 years, Lynda knows a top-notch practice and doctor when she sees one. Rockwall Eye Associates and Dr. Edward Hurst—who has performed thousands of cataract surgeries using basic and specialty lenses—impressed her.

“It’s rare to find a physician who truly cares about you,” says Lynda. “I made a great decision when I put my trust and confidence in Dr. Hurst. He’s knowledgeable, compassionate, skilled, and a person of integrity. You can talk to him about your concerns and he listens. He answered all my questions thoroughly and never made me feel rushed. I felt well-cared for, and his staff is wonderful, too.”

Best of all, Lynda is overjoyed with her results. “I couldn’t be happier! I highly recommend Dr. Hurst and Rockwall Eye Associates.”

Robin’s cataracts were so bad she stopped driving. “When I decided to consider surgery, I asked friends and acquaintances for input and was referred to Dr. Kate Lee. People I trust had great experiences with her. I’m so glad I took their advice!” Robin says.

The first thing Robin noticed about Rockwall Eye Associates was the friendly staff and pleasant office atmosphere. “I dreaded having eye surgery and was concerned that I had waited too long. Everyone at Rockwall Eye Associates was so nice—they put me at ease. Dr. Lee smiled and told me surgery could be done and not to worry. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated her sensitivity and kindness. She also provided three options and explained each, so I could make an informed decision.”

Robin adds, “I can see clearly and sharply now in both eyes after surgery and have passed on the good word about Rockwall Eye Associates and Dr. Lee to others.”

Award-winning Ophthalmic Care Close to Home

Rockwall Eye Associates treat all diseases of the eye and use advanced technology for diagnosis and treatment, including lasers in both pre- and post-cataract surgery as well as treating some forms of glaucoma. They also use the latest multifocal lenses for cataract patients, educate patients on treatment options, and make recommendations based on their individual needs.

From Cataracts to Clarity

Rockwall Eye Associates specializes in cataract surgery, including laser-assisted cataract surgery and dropless cataract surgery, which gives patients the benefit of post-operative medications without the hassle of remembering drops.

Drs. Hurst and Lee are well-versed in selecting advanced lens implants that greatly reduce dependence on glasses for both distance and near vision.

“We can deliver a fuller range of vision after cataract surgery than was ever possible before,” says Dr. Hurst. “For example, the new Symfony multifocal lens is designed to provide vision correction across multiple distances—near and far. Plus, Symfony may help reduce bothersome side effects such as loss in contrast sensitivity, halos, glare, and nighttime dysphotopsia.”

Dr. Lee adds, “With the right lens option, most patients can go throughout their day without needing eyeglasses or contacts, even for near tasks.”

Rockwall Eye Associates also educate patients on preventive care. For example, they explain that protecting your eyes from ultraviolet light rays by wearing sunglasses, or even regular vision correction lenses with anti-UV coating, may significantly slow the development of cataracts.

Diabetic Eye Care and Therapy

Approximately 28 percent of adults aged 40 and over have diabetes-related eye disease. Diabetic retinopathy is one of the most common.

“Waiting until symptoms are present could mean that diabetic retinopathy has progressed to the point where it could cause irreversible damage to the eyes,” explains Dr. Hurst. “We monitor our diabetic patients’ eyes and provide treatments to help preserve vision and slow the progression of retinopathy.”
