Long-time patients of Richardson Dentistry who’ve relocated as far away as New York, Korea, Belgium, Florida, and elsewhere make an annual or biannual dental checkup part of any visit back to Richardson. Couldn’t they find a dentist in their new location? Absolutely, but when you’ve partnered with a dental practice you really trust, they can be hard to replace.

And it’s not just Richardson expats who feel such devotion to this dental team. Local families have been coming to Richardson Dentistry for three and four generations and employees have worked there 20, 30, even 40 years. If that means investing in new, cutting-edge technology such as same-day crowns, digital X-rays, intraoral camera, and soft tissue laser, that’s what they do. If it means the doctors’ logging many times the number of continuing education hours required of them, they do that, too. “Dr. Guirguis and I also belong to a dental study club,” said Dr. Brent Fleming. “We meet twice a month with 60 to 80 other doctors, bring in dental speakers from all over the world, and participate in complex dental planning sessions.”

Highly Personalized Care

“But beyond training and technology, the best thing we can do for our patients is just to slow down and listen to them; to really connect,” Dr. Fleming said. “We’re like a family here and enjoy getting to know our patients, their feelings and concerns, and being their partner in optimum oral health.” And with six hygienists on staff, everyone in the family can have their teeth cleaned at once.

Best Care Every Time

Because they feel strongly that their patients should receive the best level of dentistry from the best provider, Drs. Guirguis and Fleming regularly refer patients out to trusted specialists. “We’re able to provide root canals and dental implants here,” said Dr. James Guirguis. “But because we want our patients to receive the best possible care at all times, we prefer to refer them to someone who does these procedures all day, every day.” Periodontal surgeon Stephen Walker keeps regular hours at Richardson Dentistry to perform many such procedures right there in the office, where patients are already comfortable.

Giving Back

This “what’s best” philosophy extends out into the community as well, as doctors and staff invest their time and resources in many worthwhile local charities, holding annual toy drives and coat drives in the office. And both doctors offer pro bono dental care to uninsured and underinsured children in the Richardson ISD and volunteer their time with Network Richardson. “We’ve been very blessed in our practice and personal lives,” Dr. Fleming said. “These are just a few ways we can give back.”

For all these reasons—and others—Richardson Dentistry was awarded the Super Service Award from Angie’s List in recognition of its service and patient reviews for the year.
