Are you one of the more than one-third of adults in America to suffer from obesity? Have dietary changes and exercise failed to help you take off the weight? Are you ready to consider surgical weight loss options? At Reshape Bariatric and General Surgery Fort Worth, Hossein Bagshahi, M.D. helps patients achieve weight loss, feel better, and increase longevity by offering minimally invasive and laparoscopic bariatric surgery, such as sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and Lap Band.
“Our approach is different. We are not a weight loss surgery factory,” said Dr. Bagshahi. “We offer a comprehensive bariatric surgery program, including in-depth consultation with bariatric dieticians, an advanced nurse practitioner, and classes centered around pre-op and post-op expectations . Our patients receive a lot of lifestyle counseling, nutrition support, and life-long follow up because we want them to be successful in keeping weight off well after surgery. Being a bariatric surgeon is very rewarding. I get to share in my patients’ excitement and joy during the weight loss journey. Many patients have suffered for decades, being told that they need to lose weight, but not being offered any tools to go about it. Weight loss surgery is now a safe, effective tool that gets patients the weight loss results they need to reshape their life.
Dr. Bagshahi’s goal is to help patients suffering from comorbidities associated with excessive weight, such as metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, joint pain, sleep apnea, depression and infertility.
Surgical options at Reshape Bariatric and General Surgery Fort Worth include sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic gastric bypass, Lap-Band and revisions. Dr. Bagshahi is fellowship trained in bariatric surgery, minimally invasive, and robotic assisted surgery.
Dr. Bagshahi also works with patients who have been unable to successfully treat heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hiatal hernias, groin and abdominal wall hernias, gallbladder disease, or benign and malignant colon conditions.
