How far would you go to be treated with dignity by a caring healthcare provider? Patients of Dr. V.A. Vallury think nothing of turning to him for telehealth appointments, even though they live in Illinois, or driving from Oklahoma to be seen by him in Texas.
For more than 30 years, Dr. Vallury operated a popular practice in Chicago focused on placing the patient’s experience — not profit margins — at the center of care. “A lot of people are under-insured or uninsured,” he said. “Many work full time but still can’t afford health insurance. They deserve to receive the same quality care as those with insurance and to be treated with dignity and compassion.”
Dr. Vallury’s healthcare model and the time he devotes to each patient soon had his Chicago practice booming. “I was serving multiple generations of some families and I saw newborns who later brought their own children to me,” he said. “But while my heart still says I’m young, my bones couldn’t take the cold in Chicago anymore.”
So, he relocated to Texas and opened two offices, one in McKinney and one in Farmers Branch, with the same model of care. Fees are clear, concise, and always quoted upfront with the goal of the very best care at affordable prices.
Employees are treated well and paid above market standards, which makes for a happy, dynamic work environment with lots of smiles and laughter. Dr. Vallury takes time with each patient, learning their full health history and creating highly personalized healthcare strategies with long-term health in mind.
“This is all done before we begin billing for our services,” Dr. Vallury said. “Let’s come up with a plan for your care first. Then, we partner with you and are always eager to hear your ideas about your care.”
The fee-for-service model, with all pricing quoted upfront on the website, also includes in-house testing. “We try to do all testing in-office,” Dr. Vallury said. “When we have to send any lab work out, we negotiate a lower fee for our patients. We accept all major insurance but feel strongly that everyone deserves the best care, whether they have insurance or not.”
Dr. Vallury believes in patient education and empowerment. “I never want a patient to leave my office with a question unanswered,” he said. “And every patient leaves here with my personal cell phone number, should a question occur to them later.”
When not on the job, Dr. Vallury enjoys time with his wife of 41 years, Zooming with his grandchildren, and playing golf. He donates his time and resources to local nonprofits, including Children’s Hospital. An insatiable learner, he has already logged 70 hours of continuing education for 2021. Eventually, he’d like to send healthcare teams into rural areas of Texas to care for underserved populations there. Find out more at RFHC.com.
