The doctors of Premier Foot and Ankle have successfully helped thousands of patients—from pro athletes and weekend warriors to grade schoolers and grandparents—get back to the life they love. They always begin with the least invasive treatment options and exhaust all conservative therapy, before considering surgery. When surgery is the best option, they advocate the least invasive procedures to shorten recovery time, lower the risk of complications, and offer more precise and successful results. Here are some of the state-of-the-art technologies helping them get patients back in the game of life.

EPAT (extracorporeal pulse activation technology) is a unique, nonsurgical, noninvasive treatment for plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis. It can be performed in-office without the need for injections or anesthesia with patients able to walk out of the office afterward with few restrictions. “Our success rate with EPAT is over 85 percent,” said Dr. Korpinen, “and in most cases, it allows us to avoid surgery.”

“Podiatherm nerve ablation is a nonsurgical, radio frequency treatment to stop foot pain. “It’s used for nerve problems of the feet including neuromas or a pinched nerve in the ball of the foot and can also be used for plantar fasciitis where there is nerve entrapment,” Dr. Freeland said. “It’s performed in-office with patients resuming their normal activities within a few days.”

MLS Laser Treatment

MLS (multiwave locked system) laser therapy is an FDA-cleared, patented, photon healing laser that stimulates healing by increasing cell turnover, decreasing inflammation and scar tissue in a pain-free manner. “The MLS Laser can be used for plantar fasciitis, tendinitis of the foot and ankle, arthritis maintenance, postoperative therapy to accelerate healing, and even for recovery from athletic events and marathons,” Dr. Ramirez said. Treatments are usually schedule two to three times per week.

Although the doctors at Premier Foot & Ankle never consider surgery until all noninvasive treatment options have been exhausted, conditions such as trauma or broken bones to the foot and ankle, bunions, flat feet, and sport-related injuries may be best treated through surgery. Premier Foot & Ankle surgeons have performed thousands of successful foot and ankle surgeries and have seen many patients set free from foot and ankle pain.

Vascular disease can affect patients of any age with burning, tingling, numb, itchy, tired, achy, swollen, or restless type of sensations in legs and feet. Left undiagnosed, it can lead to lifestyle limiting complications including limb amputation or life-threatening infections. “We offer in-office, noninvasive testing using the PADnet system, which allows us to detect vascular disease in just five minutes,” Dr. Sheth said. “This has led to dramatic improvements in our diabetic patients and others with vascular disease.”

In addition to these treatments, the doctors of Premier Foot & Ankle also offer diabetic foot care, treatment for ingrown toenails, laser therapy for fungal toenails, vascular testing, diabetic nerve testing, plantar warts, and skin lesions. Premier Foot and Ankle has locations in Frisco, Plano, Allen, McKinney, Celina, Sherman, Dallas and Mesquite.
