Dr. Grace Pecson and her colleagues have conducted medical exams sitting beside a young patient on the exam room floor. They’ve climbed up to sit beside a patient on the exam table. They’ve checked a teddy bear or two for ear infection and listened to the heartbeat of more than one baby doll. In short, they’ve done whatever it takes to make a trip to their Pecan Tree Pediatrics Clinics in Rockwall and Wylie friendly and stress-free for children of all ages, adolescents and their parents and caregivers. Parents themselves, they know what it’s like to have a sick child and go out of their way to make their practice a place where families are afforded the time they need to ask questions, to gain information and to feel supported and encouraged.
It’s no wonder parents have enthusiastically recommended them to family and friends. In fact, a majority of new families who walk through their door are there because of a great experience related to them by a current family. What they find is a warm and welcoming environment with a seasoned staff, many of whom have been with the practice since its opening in 2009. Over that time they’ve forged trusting relationships with families, as they have watched children grow, from that first newborn visit, through the school years and the addition of new siblings, reassuring parents as they traverse each new age and stage together. Drs. Casey Drake, Virenda Wood and Grace Pecson have been with Pecan Tree Pediatrics since they opened their first clinic in Rockwall. Drs. JoAnn Harris, Nicole Laird and Tricia Dudek have been welcomed on board, as the practice has grown.

Pecan Tree Pediatrics pediatricians, nurses and medical assistants are big on caregiver education, never wanting a parent or other caregiver to leave until they’re confident taking a sick child home and comfortable with the care they’ll be administering. They also place an emphasis on wellness care and proactive, preventative medicine, taking time to educate caregivers about healthy lifestyle choices they can make at home. When medical issues do arise, the pediatricians at Pecan Tree Pediatrics take time to explain diagnoses and management options, answer any and all questions and partner with families to make informed decisions regarding their children’s care.
Pecan Tree Pediatrics staff is diligent about sanitizing all waiting areas and exam rooms, top to bottom between patients. Yet they’ve gone out of their way to avoid a sterile, utilitarian vibe. Exam rooms are spacious and vibrant to help children and their parents feel at ease; to make each trip to the pediatrician’s office a great experience. They are available 24/7, with a doctor always on-call, if caregivers have any questions. Their fully electronic records ensure that, whether a family is seen at the Rockwall or Wylie office, records are readily available.
“We are committed to ensuring that every member of the family feels welcome and reassured, when they step into our offices,” said Grace Pecson, M.D. “Our goal is to meet and exceed the standard of care for our patients, thereby, gaining the trust of their families. We’d like to thank our families for trusting us with the care of their children all these years. Their loyalty has allowed us to grow continually and we look forward to treating the next generation of patients.”
Pecan Tree Pediatrics gives back to the community through their support of March of Dimes and American Heart Association and other outreach programs throughout Rockwall and Wylie.
Pecan Tree Pediatrics is now accepting new patients at both locations.
