Whether you suffer from pain due to arthritis, an injury, failed surgery, pinched nerves, peripheral neuropathy, or another chronic health condition, Dr. James L. Carlisle provides customized solutions designed to deliver relief. Specializing in physical medicine, rehabilitation, and pain management, he has helped countless patients restore and enhance their functional ability and quality of life, and is here to help you, too.
Treating Pain from Head to Toe
Dr. Carlisle is at the forefront of his field. He takes a conservative, comprehensive, nonsurgical approach to treating musculoskeletal injuries, acute and chronic muscle and joint pain, total spine care, and rehabilitative care.
What we provide isn’t formula medicine. We use advanced diagnostics and then develop individualized treatment plans to help each patient live their life to the fullest and achieve their goals,” says Dr. Carlisle.
Since pain can be complex, Dr. Carlisle works closely with the best local specialists, such as physical therapists, surgeons, rheumatologists, and neurologists. He refers patients who need a broader scope of care and collaborates with specialists to provide a seamless continuum of care.
Providing the Best Patient Experience
Putting patients first comes naturally to Dr. Carlisle and his friendly, compassionate team, but they don’t stop there to deliver the best patient experience possible.
“We also focus on being customer service-oriented. There’s a sign in my office that says, ‘People may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.’ We live by this here at Omega Rehabilitation & Spine,” says Dr. Carlisle. “Patients have a choice when they select us, and we appreciate this.”
Being in private practice, Dr. Carlisle sets his own pace. The office has an upbeat vibe, and patients are genuinely valued and treated with respect. He actively listens and gets to know his patients, then develops customized treatment plans to help make a real difference in their lives.
There’s nothing more gratifying than to treat a patient and see them experience immediate relief,” Dr. Carlisle shares.
Dr. Carlisle earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, receiving the prestigious Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. He then spent a year in the Medical Scholars Program at Vanderbilt University and completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation with a concentration in pain management and interventional spine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Outside of the office, Dr. Carlisle spends time with his wife, Chrystal, and their two daughters, and enjoys reading, athletics, and travel.
