You’ve heard the adage: your eyes are the windows to your soul. They can reveal your inner emotions and feelings, but most importantly, they provide the cherished gift of sight. When you need delicate surgery around your eyes, you can put your trust in Dr. Mayli Davis, an eye specialist and surgeon with experience, expertise and credentials that make her stand out.
Mayo Clinic-Trained And Board-Certified Opthalmologist, Fellowship-Trained In Oculoplastic Surgery
Dr. Davis has focused her practice, Advanced Eyelid Surgery & Laser Center, on cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery and care. She sees children and adults in a welcoming office environment, stays current on the latest advances, and uses cutting-edge technology and techniques including laser-assisted and radio frequency surgery.
A Feminine Touch
Surgery involving the delicate eye area requires specialized skill and finesse. When it comes to cosmetic eyelid surgery, Dr. Davis believes less is more. As an ophthalmologist, she is also keenly interested in preserving the eye’s function, which makes her uniquely qualified.
“My philosophy is to help patients look better, but keep it natural,” said Dr. Davis, who is soft-spoken and compassionate. “Overly aggressive eyelid surgery can create the opposite effect you were hoping for. It’s easy to spot and can actually make you look older as you age.”
Dr. Davis customizes treatments to the patient and strives to optimize results. For example, she often uses special techniques to keep the area below the lower eyelid from appearing sunken—a common problem with aging eyes. “If a patient is a good candidate, during eyelid surgery, I reposition fat that has created bags around the eyes, into the hollow of the lower lid to create beautiful results,” she said.
Saggy upper eyelids that make you look old and tired may be due to a droopy brow. Dr. Davis performs brow lift surgery, often in conjunction with eyelid surgery, to completely rejuvenate the eyes and forehead area. Results can be remarkable. She uses varied techniques based on the needs of the patient, including minimally invasive endoscopic brow lifts.
Dr. Davis excels at reconstructive surgery, too. She sees patients for the removal of growths and moles around the eye, to correct congenital eye and orbital disorders, including ptosis (droopy eye) and to reconstruct the eye and orbital area after trauma or skin cancer removal.
The Total Package,
Patients are happy with their eyelid and brow results and want the rest of their face to look youthful as well. Dr. Davis has the answer! She provides nonsurgical treatments to keep your entire face and your skin looking smooth and youthful. She uses injectables to erase lines and deep wrinkles, performs laser skin resurfacing, prescribes topical products, and more. Known for her handson approach, Dr. Davis performs all dermal filler and Botox injections herself.
