There’s always a reason to smile at Maxwell Creek Family Dentistry. Whether you’re laughing with Lonnie Guardiola, DDS, Emily Eggart, DDS, or Jeffrey Pope, DDS, or admiring your new pearly whites, Maxwell Creek is dedicated to helping their patients have a good dental experience.

Maxwell Creek offers a wide variety of services, including emergency dentistry, family and general dentistry, restorative dentistry, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, periodontal therapy, sedation dentistry, sleep health, orthodontics, and TMJ/TMD treatment.

“Our comprehensive approach makes Maxwell Creek Family Dentistry unique,” said Dr. Guardiola. “We look at your health as a whole. Instead of just looking at your teeth, we examine how the body and the mouth interact and the effects they have on each other.”

A Fort Worth native, Dr. Guardiola attended the University of North Texas for his undergraduate degree and Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas for dental training. He has owned Maxwell Creek for eight years and loves working in Wylie because it’s “a growing area, very diverse with many unique people to talk to, and conversations that are never boring.” Dr. Guardiola also values his team, describing them as “super energetic, incredibly thorough, and very service-oriented.”

One of their most popular services is Invisalign, designed to align your teeth with clear trays instead of traditional metal brackets and wires. “Invisalign is a really good alternative to braces,” explained Dr. Guardiola. “When the teeth are not in the right position, they don’t work well together. They need to fit like a puzzle piece, and when those pieces don’t match up, the teeth end up destroying one another. Alignment gets teeth out of the way of one another so they can function the way they’re meant to.”

Come in for an Invisalign consultation, which includes a health and wellness scan that shows the positioning and intensity of your bite. From there, Dr. Guardiola will assess whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign. Then patients can see what their teeth would look like after Invisalign via a digital scanner connected to a computer and decide if they want to move forward.

“Adults love Invisalign because they don’t have to walk around with braces,” said Dr. Guardiola. “It also helps keep things clean because braces collect plaque.”

Dr. Guardiola estimates the usual time period is about 12 to 15 months, but it can be different for everyone. During the months you have Invisalign, follow-up appointments are usually required about once every 10 weeks to examine how the teeth are moving and making slight corrections if necessary.

“No matter what service you come in for, you’re going to get a very different experience at our office,” said Dr. Guardiola. “We’re going to cater to whatever your goals are as opposed to just telling you what you need. We’re going to give our input, as we have expertise that the general public doesn’t have, but we can cater treatment to whatever your goals are in the hopes that each patient feels satisfied with their treatment.”
