This year marks the 15-year anniversary of Southlake Plastic Surgery, the private practice of Dr. Mark Mason, board-certified plastic surgeon. During those years, Dr. Mason has earned the trust of thousands of patients who come from all over Texas and beyond. “Many of my patients are referred by other patients or are patients I have worked with before,” said Dr. Mason. “I also do work for a lot of other doctors and doctors’ wives, so it is nice to know that even they place their trust in me.” Dr. Mason is well known in the field of cosmetic surgery for superior technical skill and beautiful outcomes as well as his warmth and likeability.
Cosmetic Surgery with Focus on Face and Body
Dr. Mason has focused his practice on cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures of the face and body. He specializes in a wide variety of procedures, from breast augmentations and tummy tucks to laser treatments and facelifts. As a board-certified Stanford-trained surgeon with many years of experience, Dr. Mason has earned an impeccable reputation in the field. “I was privileged to train under many of the nation’s leading experts in plastic and reconstructive surgery,” said Dr. Mason.
One of Dr. Mason’s most popular surgical packages is the Mommy Makeover, which most often includes breast lift (with or without augmentation) and a tummy tuck (with or without liposuction). “The desired outcome of this procedure is full, lifted breasts and a tight abdomen,” said Dr. Mason. An ideal Mommy Makeover candidate will be close to her ideal weight and will have completed child bearing and breast feeding.
Other popular surgical offerings of the body and face offered at Southlake Plastic Surgery include liposuction, facelift eyelid surgery, brow lift, neck lift, rhinoplasty (nose) and chin augmentation.
Enhanced Warranty Offers More Peace of Mind for Augmentation Patients
Dr. Mason is pleased to partner with Mentor Corporation in providing what he believes to be one of the most comprehensive implant warranty programs offered to patients. “The Mentor MemoryShape and MemoryGel implants hold together uniformly while still maintaining the natural give of breast tissue,” said Dr. Mason.
Mentor is so confident in their product that they guarantee their implants for all patients in the event of unexpected rupture. The manufacturer will provide replacement of a Mentor product free of charge for the lifetime of the patient.
Southlake Plastic Surgery has partnered with Mentor to offer an extended warranty option that gives patients even more peace of mind. For a $200 enrollment fee (which is credited back to patients toward services at Southlake Plastic Surgery), patients will receive the above-mentioned replacement and also financial assistance up to $3500 for operating room, anesthesia and surgeon fees not covered by insurance for replacement surgery resulting from capsular contracture or late-forming seroma up to 10 years from the date of implant surgery.
Accredited Surgical Center Provides Patient Privacy and Comfort
Dr. Mason is proud to have been the first plastic surgeon in the area to offer the convenience and privacy of an on-site surgical center. This surgical facility, Southlake Center for Cosmetic Surgery, is certified by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF), which is the gold standard in accreditation. Dr. Mason employs only board-certified physician anesthesiologists and registered nurses in the operating room.
Patients Love Aesthetic Link
Southlake Plastic Surgery is the first in the area to offer a patient online concierge service called AestheticLink. “It is a secure, HIPPA-complaint Web portal that allows us to structure each patient’s aesthetic needs through online consults and follow-up appointments to fit his or her lifestyle,” said Dr. Mason. Primary patient benefits include saved time and money.
Laser Therapy for Youthful, Healthy Glowing Skin
There are countless minimally-invasive and noninvasive/nonsurgical cosmetic procedures that can have a dramatic impact for individuals seeking assistance in looking and feeling their very best but who do not wish to have surgery. Dr. Mason and his team offer only the very best and proven procedures. From chemical peels and physician-grade skin care to lasers for skin tightening, resurfacing, hair
removal and more, Southlake Plastic Surgery is a leader in this area as well.
The Sciton Joule Laser is considered the safest, most efficient and least painful way to achieve healthier, more youthful skin. It is used for laser treatments for the face and body, for skin tightening and brightening as well as laser hair removal and more.
“It uses Broad Band light, BBL, the Forever Young BBL Photofacial treatment has been proven by Stanford researchers to alter the DNA structure of skin cells, thereby truly slowing down and even stopping the aging process of treated cells,” said Sonia Corbin, medical aesthetician and certified laser technician. “It is a wonderful tool and offers great results.”
The innovative Forever Young BBL technology uniquely delivers focused light therapy, targeting the signs of aging and sun damage. Treatment effectively produces a more refreshed and rejuvenated appearance—and who doesn’t want to look younger and more rested?
When used in the profractional setting, the amazing Sciton laser also helps tremendously in the reduction of scarring on the skin, either from surgery or acne. “Physicians who have used this technology over the last nine years have seen results that show that their patients’ skin has not aged over that time period and look years younger than before treatment,” said Dr. Mason.
Injectables Offer Fullness, Smoothness and a More Youthful Appearance
Brenda Ray is a registered nurse who has worked with Dr. Mason since 2001, and she specializes in all cosmetic injections, including Botox, Juvéderm and the newer Voluma, which gives excellent and natural mid-face volume and is a great alternative to surgery. Brenda has received extensive training in anatomy and physiology as well as muscles and nerves of the facial area. She takes great pride in her work and patients love her. Brenda’s clinic days are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. She can be contacted directly at email@example.com for questions and specific scheduling requests.
Meet Dr. Mason
Dr. Mason graduated first in his medical school class at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his plastic surgery residency at Stanford University Medical Center in Stanford, California. Here he trained under the nation’s leading experts in plastic and reconstructive surgery. “I have always been fascinated by both the science and art of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery,” said Dr. Mason.
He decided at an early age to become a surgeon when he was in high school, growing up in the small West Texas town of Plainview. Dr. Mason was a bull rider and even received a bull riding scholarship to college. “My most significant bull riding injury was a fracture—dislocation of my lower jaw, which required an operation to repair,” he said. “I became very interested in the surgical procedure required to reconstruct my lower jaw and how the surgeon and his staff treated me with such kindness and compassion throughout my recovery. Through this experience, I realized that medicine was my calling. I have always remembered the importance of both physical health as well as emotional well-being, and I try to treat everyone with respect and kindness without compromising medical care.”
Dr. Mason and his wife, Sarah, devote time and energy to the local community and schools in the Southlake area, where they live and are raising their children.
