Bespoke & Basics

By Allison Myers

The child of immigrant business owners, Tram Nelson’s entrepreneurial spirit was buzzing below the surface long before she launched Bespoke & Basics, an interior design and styling studio in McKinney. “I was always the creative one in my family,” Tram recalled, not imagining how her passion for beauty and expression would be honed over the course of 20+ years.

It was transitioning out of a career and into the role of a stay-at-home mom that changed everything for Tram, allowing her to lean into her most natural instincts and tackle her own home projects. This season of life catalyzed her fascination for home styling and aesthetics in a new way, and she soon began to work with friends and family who desired to be more deliberate in the curation and styling of their own homes. Then, in the fall of 2022, she took the leap, and Bespoke & Basics was born.

Since starting her own business, Tram has worked with clients both locally and internationally to develop spaces that are not only reflective of their style but of their personal values. Pulling inspiration from different eras, Tram gravitates toward a classical foundation reinterpreted in a modern way, mixing heritage pieces with contemporary ones. Furthermore, with each project, Tram attempts to include one Bespoke piece unique to every client, always pushing for something unexpected.
