Modern Dentistry with a Familiar Face
Dr. Stan Lowrance is the definition of “expert in dentistry” with over three decades of private practice in the very heart of Rockwall, Texas. Dr. Stan moved to the area when it was a small rural community filled with only mom and pop shops. His patients have been with him for decades, and some of his children’s friends are now employed within his practice. He says, “Invest in community and community will invest in you.”
Invest he does. Through the Rockwall Rotary Club, Dr. Stan began the Hot Rocks Bike Ride back in 1987 to raise scholarship funds for local students. They’ve given away over $400,000 in scholarships in the past thirty-one years. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was on the board for three terms. Dr. Stan was recognized for his outstanding contributions to Rockwall County by Congressman John Ratcliffe, who honored him with the Congressional Recognition Award this past April.
This year, Dr. Stan is working with the American Legion to offer another service to his community: “D-Day for V-Day” will offer veterans free dental work including fillings, extractions, or cleanings all day on November 10th. He is partnering with other doctors and hopes to be able to provide dentistry for dozens of veterans who might not otherwise receive it. Dr. Stan loves his practice and is excited about sharing it with the next generation. He is passionate about encouraging young people to establish roots in the community and hires locally whenever possible. Recently, he hired Dr. Chris Baker, a young doctor whose experience and credentials matched his own. Dr. Logan Callier, who Dr. Stan has known since he was in the sixth grade, brings additional expertise, and his wife works part-time in administration. Soon, Dr. Stan’s daughter, Shanae, will complete dental school and join the practice, carrying on the tradition of excellence in dentistry with a commitment to establishing trusting, family-like relationships among patients and the team at Lowrance Dentistry.
Most people do not realize the vast difference between dental practices operated by corporations and those run by private individuals. Dr. Stan feels strongly that dentistry is “a service, not a product.” People should be treated on an individual basis, with decisions being made that are in their best interest, not made on the basis of profitability. Dr. Stan wants potential patients to understand shopping for a dentist is not like buying a car.

One of his team members has been with him for over twenty-five years, but has recently moved out of state. She is committed to driving back to Rockwall every month to continue care with her long-time patients.
Dr. Stan and his team’s motto is, “Where Quality and Caring Come Together in a Christian Atmosphere.” Recently, the team moved from their 1,620 square foot facility to a 5,000 square foot one. They now feature the newest technology, handicap accessibility, and a large, comfortable facility that offers plenty of room to treat current and new patients.
