Cypress Gems seniors perform philanthropic service

Nineteen young women in the senior class of the Cypress Gems Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. were recognized for their outstanding philanthropic service.  At a formal event held at the Norris Conference Center, the Cypress Gems graduating class of 2019 were presented by their families and honored for their contributions to their chapter and their community.

National Charity League is a mother-daughter service organization committed to fostering the mother-daughter relationship through community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences. Alongside their mothers, the 2019 class performed over 4,050 hours of community service at 14 different charities.  Their work has benefitted multiple non-profit organizations such as Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, Giving Gown, Santa Maria Hostel, Reach Unlimited and the Blue Bow Foundation.  The Cypress Gem chapter formed in 2014 and is comprised of girls attending Cypress Ranch, Cypress Woods, Cy-Fair, and Bridgeland High Schools.

Heather Averill, Cypress Gems Chapter President stated, “We are incredibly proud of our graduating class. They truly embraced the NCL experience and it has been a joy to watch them flourish into lovely young women. We send them all best wishes for a bright future”.
