Local Choir Sings On

New name and location for area boys choir

Today it was announced that Luminari Boys Choir has sprung from the origins of Woodlands Boys Choir, which was formed in 2015 to provide exceptional choir programs to The Woodlands area. The name change reflects the growth of the choir’s membership and audience reach.

“The name ‘luminari’ invokes visions of light, wisdom, and spirit,” said founder and co-director Sherryl Pond. “Our mission is to bring these qualities to young men, whether they’re our existing choir members in The Woodlands or our new recruits we are actively seeking throughout the North Houston and surrounding areas.”

In its quest to find new talent for this well-established, award-winning program, Luminari Boys Choir has an exciting season of concerts and extracurricular events planned.

Auditions are required for Tour Choir; however, no prior experience is necessary. Auditions are short, simple, and unprepared. Qualities looked for in the boys are a love of singing, a free, controlled tone that will blend well, a good sense of pitch, and self-discipline.

Rehearsals will be held on Sunday afternoons at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church on Louetta Road in Spring.

For more information or to schedule an audition, visit the website at LuminariBoysChoir.org.
