Lakeside Eye Care has served as a dedicated and caring provider of quality vision services to Flower Mound and the surrounding communities since 2000.
“Our patients can expect personalized and attentive care from a team of professionals,” says optometric glaucoma specialist, Dr. Mirabal. “We use advanced diagnostic technology to provide modern eye care services, vision correction, dry eye and inflammatory eye care, and more. We are committed to improving the quality of life of our community through the treatment and management of your vision.”
Taking Care of Patients Comes First
As one of the area’s only fully computerized offices available, Lakeside Eye Care continues to transform the way they perform vision care by offering expanded telemedicine services.
“The pandemic has changed how patients access care, particularly at-risk populations like seniors and those with underlying health conditions,” Dr. Mirabal explained. “This has been a challenging time for our eyesight, as virtual work for both students and adults has led to more screen time and less desirable health and diet choices. Given the proven links between eye health and overall health, virtual appointments allow for the detection of vision and wellness issues before they escalate. Medical eye exams include checking for cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, as well as certain systemic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes.”
The doctor shared other ways they have taken patient safety to another level. “In addition to social distancing, we have spaced out appointments, which allows ample time to thoroughly disinfect after each patient. We use UV light technology to sterilize all of the frames as well as the exam rooms, and offer a more advanced and technology-driven online patient portal.”
See Life More Clearly with Dr. Sebastian Mirabal
As an accredited Dry Eye Clinic, Lakeside Eye Care offers a certified tear testing lab for the effective detection and treatment of dry eye through less invasive techniques. Relief may be obtained through prescription eye drops, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, and BlephEx, a procedure that safely and thoroughly exfoliates eyelids and lashes to alleviate inflammation that can damage the tear glands. Relief can also be obtained through pharmaceutical supplements which they offer in-office. With an on-site optical lab, patients can receive their new glasses the same or next day. The practice is also a leader in medical contact lens excellence.
Evolving with technology and continuously providing patients with the most advanced fitting techniques and the latest materials, Dr. Mirabal takes his time with each patient to ensure precision fitting of lenses including bifocals, soft contacts, and scleral lenses for dry eye. One of Living Magazine’s “Top Docs” for the past two years, Dr. Mirabal completed his training, specializing in glaucoma and general eye disease, in Austin, Texas. He is a member of the Texas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Optometry.
“Regardless of your eye care needs, we welcome the opportunity to help you achieve and maintain good eye health, because clear vision requires comprehensive, experienced care,” Dr. Mirabal said.
