Specialists in Dry Eye Care
Lakeside Eye Care is one of the area’s most advanced and fully computerized offices available. The doctor and his expert team, including Tyler Tackett, CPOA, a board-certified optician and certified paraoptometric assistant, and Jessica Hill, CPO, a certified paraoptometric, offer thorough medical eye health exams for adults and children which includes checking for cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, as well as certain systemic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes. If needed, the specialists can take digital photographs of the surface of the eye in order to monitor health conditions, with the goal being to help slow down the disease.
Receiving numerous referrals from area physicians, the eye care team focuses on conditions such as dry eye syndrome, which occurs when your eyes either don’t produce enough tears or produce poor quality tears. Dry eye is determined by persistent dryness, scratchiness, or a burning sensation on the eye’s surface. Additionally, it is possible to have watery eyes when excessive dryness works to over stimulate the production of the watery component of the eye’s tears. Lakeside Eye Care is an accredited dry eye clinic offering a certified tear testing lab for the effective detection and treatment of dry eye through less invasive techniques. Relief may be obtained through prescription eye drops, Intense Pulse Light (IPL) therapy, and BlephEx, a procedure that safely and thoroughly exfoliates the eyelids and lashes to alleviate inflammation that can cause damage to the tear glands.
With an on-site optical lab, Lakeside Eye Care is also a leader in medical contact lens excellence. Evolving with technology and continuously providing patients with the most advanced fitting techniques and the latest materials, Dr. Mirabal takes his time with each patient to ensure precision fitting of lenses including bifocals, soft contacts, and toric lenses (designed to correct astigmatism).
