Heads up Frisco. There’s a new restaurant in town introducing an innovative dining concept. Gather at the bar and watch while super-fresh, mouthwatering sushi is made to order using top-of-the-line ingredients. Kyodai Handroll & Sushi Bar is your answer to a friendly, interactive dining experience in a comfortable setting.

Three Guys and a Sushi Bar

It all started when three guys became good friends while working as chefs in the same restaurant. Viet Nguyen, Eric Bui, and Long Doan have years of collective experience behind the sushi bar and hibachi grill, skills gleaned from working multiple restaurants in the past. Their combined talents and love and passion for sushi making gave them confidence to strike out on their own and open Kyodai Handroll & Sushi Bar.

Impeccably fresh fish is delivered each morning. “It’s always a surprise because I never know what variety of fish will arrive,” Eric says. He improvises, using the catch of the day to create a delectable sushi menu guests can view on the blackboard when they arrive.

The concept is simple yet delicate. There are no dining tables. Guests head directly to the square-shaped bar to enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience where chefs will interact one-on-one and serve fresh handrolls one piece at a time. They can choose from an array of premier fish, including king salmon, while delicious ingredients are added to make the flavors pop. “Savory bluefin tuna belly and fresh uni are fantastic,” says Viet. “Our chefs will cater the menu based on the interaction with the diner,” Viet says.

Each handroll is made with crispy seaweed combined with fluffy rice and the heathiest fish, created one at a time to ensure the freshest quality. The result is a spectacular delicacy served with drinks including wine, imported Japanese beer, or a perfectly paired sake. “Each day is a new experience,” Viet says. While interacting with dining guests, the guys hope their upbeat conversation creates an enjoyable atmosphere and puts a smile on customers’ faces.

The Kyodai group engaged Cameron Mai, broker from Sperry Commercial – Engvest, to seek a conveniently located restaurant space for them. Located in the Custer Road Marketplace at the corner of Highway 121 next door to Boba Latte, Kyodai Handroll & Sushi Bar is a great place to gather with family or friends. Viet, Eric, and Long look forward to sharing a unique and enjoyable dining experience for every guest, every time.
