Kent Lawson, DDS

Dentistry has been part of Dr. Kent Lawson’s life since he was a sophomore in high school. With a keen interest in biology and science and a great family dentist as a role model, it didn’t take him long to choose his life’s calling. Fast forward 35 years and you will find him enjoying his profession as much, if not more, than he did the day he began.

“One of the things I love about being a dentist is the close relationships I build with my patients and staff, and seeing the relationships they build with one another,” Dr. Lawson says. “We see multiple generations of family members—parents, children, grandparents—and it’s the ultimate compliment when someone I treated when they were a child brings their own children to see us.”

Relationship-based, Personalized Care

Dr. Lawson’s dental philosophy is simple. He strives to create a comfortable, peaceful environment where patients can experience quality, lifetime dental care so they may enjoy optimal dental health. “If we wouldn’t recommend a procedure to a friend or family member, we won’t recommend it to our patients,” says Dr. Lawson, whose down-to-earth personality and easygoing chairside manner helps his patients feel at ease.

Over the years, Dr. Lawson and his team have upheld this philosophy of care while maintaining a thriving private practice that delivers a hometown doctor-patient experience. Unlike those corporate dental clinics and chains, Dr. Lawson’s practice is genuinely welcoming and family-friendly, and they take time to get to know their patients as individuals. For many suffering from dental anxiety—often due to traumatic dental experiences during childhood—Dr. Lawson and his staff show them that going to the dentist can be a pleasant experience by doing what they do best—being themselves.

“Most members of my team have been with me for years, and patients look forward to seeing the same friendly faces from visit to visit,” Dr. Lawson adds.

High-tech Dentistry

More than just a friendly place to go for personalized dental care, the office is equipped with the latest technology. Dr. Lawson’s commitment to staying on top of the latest advances is one of the ways he helps his patients maintain complete oral health.

“Many things I work with now weren’t around when I went to dental school, like same day crowns,” Dr. Lawson says. He uses in-office dental CAD/CAM technology to scan your mouth digitally and create a 3D image, then artistically mills and customizes your restoration on the spot in a single office visit. No messy impression material to deal with, no temporary to wear, and no second or third appointment to get your new crown placed!

Another example of Dr. Lawson staying at the forefront of modern dentistry is the SILENT NITE oral appliance which he custom-fits to the patient to help address obstructive sleep apnea and prevent snoring.

Dr. Lawson has also seen changes in his patients’ smiles and the services they are interested in. “In general, kids and adults come to appointments with fewer cavities these days and are more in tune with maintaining good oral health,” he says. “This, along with the advent of cosmetic dentistry and huge advances in dental aesthetics has increased the demand for customized smile makeovers and teeth whitening, as well as teeth straightening with clear, custom, removable aligners. It’s a wonderful feeling to improve patients’ smiles and help them feel more self-confident.”

Patients Love Dr. Lawson and You Will, Too!

“Dr. Lawson treats my whole family, even our little ones. They love him, and he does great work and never overcharges or tries to sell unneeded services. His staff is super friendly and we love going.” – C.Y.

“Dr. Lawson was very kind and compassionate. I was extremely nervous (having not been to a dentist in approximately 15 years due to extreme dental anxiety!) and Dr. Lawson made me feel very welcome and relaxed. Thank you, Dr. Lawson!” – D.S.

“My family and I have been patients of Dr. Lawson for well over 20 years. Dr. Lawson and his staff are extremely friendly, professional, and put every patient at ease. Appointments are handled on time without a long waiting period like you will see at a lot of doctor’s offices. He and the staff take time to answer all my questions completely and they pride themselves on providing top quality care. If you are looking for a dentist that will make you feel like a part of a family, then you have just found your home!” – S.M.
