Passion, experience, and commitment provide the ultimate foundation for optimal oral care at Katy Dental Arts. Dr. Sula Umansky has been delivering a highly personalized approach to dentistry for the past 21 years. A lifetime of refining her artistry and surgical skills enables her to offer patients a full complement of dental services in one convenient location. Her dedication to each patient’s comfort is found in the perfect blend of experience, technology, and service in a modern and luxurious
office environment.

Not only does Katy Dental Arts treat multiple generations of families, they welcome and appreciate new ones, too. “My awesome staff and I are committed to providing patients with information and treatment options needed to achieve and maintain excellence in oral health, function, and beauty,” she states. “Our focus on compassionate care and state-of-the-art technology and equipment brings out the best in everyone’s smile,” she says. “My patients deserve the very latest innovations to realize the complete picture of their oral health and treatment options.”

Dr. Umansky enjoys a comfortable rapport with patients of all ages and feels blessed to employ a staff of dental professionals who share her commitment to patients with five-star service and safety. “We designed our treatment suites to provide complete privacy, not only making dentistry less stressful, but much more precise.”

She uses dental advancements including 3-D cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT), allowing her to view the teeth, jaw, and entire head in multiple dimensions and angles. Low-dose digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, laser cavity detection, advanced oral cancer screening technology, and more are engaged in many of her treatments and procedures.

Hormones and Women’s Oral Care

Females – especially during puberty and menopause – are prone to surges in progesterone and estrogen. These hormones increase blood flow to the oral area, frequently causing bleeding gums. Menopause in particular can cause dry mouth that leads to gingivitis, bacteria buildup, and plaque sensitivity. “It’s important for women to see their dentist twice a year at the very least, and preferably 3-4 times a year.” Then any potential problems can be caught early and addressed.

“I feel very fortunate to be doing what I love every day,” she says. Having been a part of the community for so long, she feels privileged to be able to care for multiple generations of patients, including their children, parents, and grandparents. Her patients can relax, knowing they’ll see the same dentist at each visit. “Together, we will develop options for treatment, and goals for assuring health, function, and beauty.” Dr. Umansky and her staff look forward to welcoming new patients and caring for them and their families for many years to come.
