Karen Williamson, DDS, PA

For Dr. Karen Williamson, the sweetest part of being a dentist is the relationships. “The best part of my 25 years in practice in this Rockwall/Rowlett community is having my patients share their stories with me. Hearing about their vacations, what their kids are doing, and how their dentistry needs relate to their individual lifestyles is what we enjoy and love,” Dr. Williamson said. “It’s the lives behind the teeth that make us strive for excellence in what we do.”

Dr. Williamson’s approachable, friendly nature puts patients at ease, making them feel like they are part of her family. “I’ve listened to my patients’ dental needs as they relate to their lives and how having a better smile can help them professionally, as well as personally.” Connecting on a personal level is what Dr. Williamson does best. A trusted relationship is formed as patients share their life experiences with her. She recalls the time a grandfather came to the office wanting to whiten his teeth because his grandkids thought they were yellow. “After we whitened his teeth, he was so proud to show off his new smile to his family.” Heartwarming stories are shared by patients every day. Dr. Williamson was delighted to help a mother of the bride prepare for her daughter’s wedding by giving her a smile makeover. “The results were beautiful and she was able to enjoy her daughter’s wedding with confidence.” When a patient shared their job loss, Dr. Williamson said, “I felt their pain over the loss of their job, only to journey in their joy when they were able to land a new one.”

Personalized Care in a Family-Oriented Environment

Dr. Williamson’s lifelong patient relationships are a testament to her caring, loving nature. She enjoys getting to know them and their extended families. She takes the time to sit down and individually consult with them, carefully considering all treatment options and ensuring that their questions are answered. “I’m now treating generations of families, and I love that,” she said. From kids’ broken teeth to weddings and careers, Dr. Williamson is there to celebrate their victories and comfort them when discouraged. “Creating beautiful smiles and transforming my patients’ lives from the inside out is a truly rewarding experience,” she said.

She has developed excellent listening skills throughout the years, allowing her to carefully hear and focus on what her patients truly want to achieve with their smiles. “Some patients simply want to whiten their teeth to look their best in job interviews. Others want more advanced cosmetic procedures. Whatever their preferred goals, we can accomplish it together.” Her transparency and honesty are qualities that patients appreciate. She values their trust and enjoys partnering with them as a team. “When X-rays are taken, my patients and I can look at them together to discover any dental issues that need attention, as opposed to me telling them what needs to be done. I want them to see the actual problems, allowing us to work together on a treatment solution.”

“I’ve been Dr. Karen Williamson’s patient for many years. Dr. Williamson and her staff are like family to me. I have always received care above and beyond the norm, and her practice is a true model of excellence. Each visit is thorough, comprehensive, informative, and completely comfortable. From Wendy—who works at the front desk with her efficiency and smile, to Jennifer—the hygienist who takes the time to remember me, to Dr. Williamson and Kelly—who work as a team to make sure my dental health is taken care of beyond preventative care—this practice is top-notch. I can honestly say I have found a practice that I can depend on and trust for years to come.” – D. Roberts
