What are my choices if I am unhappy with my neck?
Among patients who come into our office, 98% have an issue with their neck. We have various procedures available to address their concerns. One option is a neck lift, which gives patients a smooth, toned, and more youthful-looking neck. The muscles in the neck are lifted, tightened, and sutured together, which leads to a redefined jawline.
A second option is MyEllevate®, in which a permanent, light-guided suture technology lifts and elevates the neck. This procedure is minimally invasive and an excellent option for those who are not interested in traditional neck lift surgery. MyEllevate can be combined with liposuction and FaceTite which safely contracts and contours tissue. An exciting procedure that provides great results on the right candidate.
What is the determining factor in choosing between the two options?
The determining factor is the elasticity in the patient’s skin and how great the need to elevate the skin is, and how high to elevate. When a patient comes in for their consultation, we also look at factors such as age, sun exposure, general health, skin diagnosis, weight cycles, and diet and exercise. The more issues, the more aggressive the procedure.
Is it safe to have surgery during COVID?
Absolutely. We have health and safety guidelines to protect both our patients and staff. We test everybody who will have surgery to see if they have been exposed and have the COVID antibodies. Each patient undergoes a thorough medical examination and check of their history to make sure they are not at risk. Here at Fresh Image Cosmetic Surgery Center, we pride ourselves on caring for our patients as though they are family. Our saying, “We do happy at our house,” is true. We bend over backward to serve our clients and make sure they feel safe, healthy, and happy.
When can I return to work after surgery?
The downtime and recovery depends on which procedure you undergo. After 24 hours, the aftereffects are primarily cosmetic, and you can work from home for the first couple of weeks after surgery. For neck lift procedures, we recommend one week of taking it easy. The sutures are removed seven days after surgery, and leftover bruising can be covered with makeup if needed. Patients may experience bruising and swelling for up to two weeks after the procedure. Full results can be seen two to three weeks after surgery. For MyEllevate procedures, the downtime after surgery is minimal. Most of our patients will take it easy for a couple of days since they do not have any sutures to remove. A whip-lash collar is worn after the MyEllevate procedure for 10 days. Patients may experience swelling and bruising for a few days after the procedure. Full results can be seen two to three weeks after surgery. If you want to look presentable, it usually takes 10 to 14 days, depending on the extent of the procedure.
