The Hanis & Stevenson Orthodontics team has been providing comprehensive orthodontics care for 50 years, serving patients of all ages in the Katy, Fulshear, Fort Bend and West Houston communities. Dr. Hal Stevenson officially retired at the end of 2020, allowing Dr. Shad Hanis the opportunity to add a new partner to the team. As a result, the clinic is gradually transitioning to its new name of HANIS ORTHODONTICS.

Introducing Dr. Bailey Proft

The Hanis Orthodontics family is thrilled to welcome Dr. Bailey Proft. She was the obvious choice and perfect complement to Dr. Hanis’ practice, sharing his same values, kindheartedness, and exceptional credentials.

An east coast native, Dr. Proft graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester with a degree in biological psychology. She moved to Chicago, teaching fourth grade with Teach for America – an organization that brings quality education to underrepresented communities. She then attended UCONN for her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Her orthodontic residency was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where she also earned her Orthodontic Certificate and Master of Science in dentistry.

“I’m extremely honored to be a member of this team and look forward to providing the same level of care that Dr. Hanis has given to the Katy community for years,” Dr. Proft says. She loves traveling, cycling, and Blue Bell Ice Cream, claiming mint chocolate chip as her favorite. “We are thrilled to have her join our practice and can’t wait for you to meet her,” Dr. Hanis says. “Together, we will continue to lead the way in orthodontic solutions using state-of-the-art technology and our patient-focused philosophy.”
