Fulshear Family Dentistry

Fulshear Family Dentistry SD 3-16_WEBOptimal oral health—that’s the goal for Dr. William Schellhase; to see each of his patients enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile. He believes the more information a patient possesses about proactive and preventative ways to keep their teeth and gums healthy, the better able they are to make intelligent decisions about treatment options. “Our patients are our most important asset,” he said. “Relationships with them are what make my job a joy every day. The greatest vote of confidence we can receive comes when one of our patients refers us to a friend or family member. Happily, a majority of our patients come to us that way.”

Dr. Schellhase strives to strike a balance between the latest, cutting-edge dental technology and hometown, know-you-by-name care. “The great thing about practicing dentistry is, while working in an office, you might see the same faces every day; I see different people each day and no two of them are exactly alike,” he said. “We make a point never to overbook, so we’re able to spend ample time with each patient, to answer their questions thoroughly, and to let them know their time is just as important as our own. It’s my job to educate and empower my patients and then to partner with them to achieve that healthy, gorgeous smile everyone deserves.”

Because dental technology and knowhow are rapidly advancing, Dr. Schellhase logs many hours of continuing education classes each year, to ensure that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care available. He has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and has performed many smile makeovers using Lumineers, changing the size, shape, color, and/or spacing of teeth for a vibrant, properly functioning smile. He also performs extractions and root canals and provides bridges, crowns, dentures, and partial dentures in-house, so his patients don’t have to be referred elsewhere.

Dr. William Paul Schellhase is a Kerrville, Texas, native who received his B.S. in biology from Lamar University in Beaumont and his DDS from The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. After graduation from Dental School, he served in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corp. After completing his military service, he practiced dentistry in Breckenridge, Texas, for 25 years before relocating to Richmond and eventually opening Fulshear Family Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society.

Dr. Schellhase and his wife, Shirley, have five children and five grandkids. They are active members of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis. In their free time, they enjoy golf and world travel. Recent travels brought them to Israel, Jordan, and Italy. Dr. Schellhase is now accepting new patients at Fulshear Family Dentistry.
