Founders Day Fun

Joe Ely headlines annual festival set for May 18

Every year, the City of Rockwall brings big names to the annual Founders Day Festival at Harry Myers Park, and this year is no different. Slated for Saturday, May 18, starting at 10 AM, the headlining musical act will be acclaimed Texas songwriter and legendary musician Joe Ely, who has had a storied career spanning as many genres as decades. Ely will take the Southwest Kia Rockwall Main Stage at 8 PM. Country music star Ray Wylie Hubbard is set to open for Ely at 6 PM.

The festival will feature live music on stage all day and plenty of fun for families to experience and enjoy. There will be plenty of food vendors on hand, a festive kids’ zone, and the Parks and Recreation Department will team up with area Scouts to provide festival-goers a unique opportunity to “Go Outside and Play.”
