Pioneering Foot & Ankle Care on Your Doorstep
Since the pandemic began in March, having things delivered to our front doors has become commonplace. Everything from groceries to fashion, pet meds to dinner are just a ring of our doorbells away. Since 2013, the patients of Foot & Ankle Specialists (FAS) of The Woodlands have opened their door to find highly qualified and compassionate doctors waiting on their stoop.
Podiatrist Marcin N. Vaclaw and his colleagues, Drs. Brian Conley, Clayton Toole, Trent Monson, and Cece Honculda have brought back the house call in a big way and their patients couldn’t be happier. Thanks to them, homebound patients across Greater Houston can receive state-of-the-art diagnostics—including X-rays, circulation, and nerve tests—and cutting-edge care in the comfort of their homes.
“Our patient base is diverse,” said Founding Partner Marcin N. Vaclaw, DPM. “We see a lot of runners and other athletes with foot and ankle injuries who are eager to get back to their active lifestyle. But we also care for patients who, for one reason or another, have a hard time getting out of their homes. We’re happy to bring the most modern and up-to-date care to them.”
House calls have always set FAS The Woodlands apart from other area podiatrists. Now, with the thread of COVID-19, it’s one more way they can care for this vulnerable population, keeping them safe and out of the general public. Homebound patients can contact the Foot & Ankle Specialists of The Woodlands’ office at (281) 909-7722 to set up a home visit. (This service is covered by insurance.)
It’s no wonder the practice is thriving. With two new Houston clinics and two new doctors joining the team, there are a total of 10 premier podiatrists on staff. Together they specialize in treating all conditions of the foot and ankle. Whether in the office or in a patient’s home, they’re committed to pioneering the latest care with an emphasis on patient education and empowerment. They work hard to tailor treatment to each patient and always exhaust all viable nonsurgical treatments before recommending surgery.
Since 2013, Foot & Ankle Specialists of The Woodlands has remained at the forefront of medical advancements including regenerative care through the use of stem cells for treatment of wounds, arthritis, and soft tissue conditions. They also offer the latest techniques and technology for:
- Heel Pain
- Diabetic Foot Care
- Flat Feet
- Toenail Fungus
- Itchy, Dry Feet
Meet Dr. Vaclaw
Oklahoma native Marcin N. Vaclaw grew up playing and loving sports. He chose a podiatry career because it combined his love of athletics with his love of medicine. Dr. Vaclaw earned his bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology at Brigham Young University and his doctorate at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he also received specialized wound care training from The Cleveland Clinic. He completed a three-year residency at Kingwood Medical Center where he specialized in foot and ankle surgery and medicine and served as chief resident. Dr. Vaclaw is one of the first podiatrists in the country to receive a Reconstructive Rearfoot Accreditation at the end of his residency. He volunteers once a month at InterFaith Community Clinic in The Woodlands and also serves at his church.
“I hear compliments all the time about the friendliness and warmth of our office,” Dr. Vaclaw said. “Our clinic staff is welcoming, and we want each in-office visit to be as comfortable as their own home. We cherish the relationships we develop with our patients. Whether they come to us or we come to them, the best part of every day is getting to know them and caring for them by caring for their feet and ankles.”
