Dr. Guy Facial Plastic Surgery

Math and science have always come naturally to Marshall Guy. As he began to consider a vocation, his fascination with the human body led him toward a career in medicine. And as he advanced in medical school, a surgery rotation made him realize he had an aptitude for surgery. “I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands,” he said. “The face and neck are particularly challenging areas on which to operate, but facial plastic surgery seemed like a way to positively impact many lives.”

Highly Specialized

It all came together quite naturally for Dr. Guy. Now as a fellowship-trained, double board certified facial plastic surgeon, he couldn’t be happier with the choice he made. “My specialty allows me to spend as much time as I want with each patient,” he said. “I’m able to develop relationships, to see my results, and to witness the impact I’ve had on my patients—and consequently on the people they love. I can’t think of anything more rewarding I could be doing.” It is with this training and skill that he personally performs every treatment including laser therapies, fillers, neuromodulators like Botox, chemical peels, etc.

Dr. Guy offers cosmetic surgery, trauma reconstructive surgery, and skin cancer removal and reconstruction of the face and neck. “Patient referrals are my number one source of new patients,” he said. “I may work on a daughter then her mother comes to me (or vice versa). I might work on a bride and her bridesmaids or one sister then the other, or on a circle of friends. It’s very flattering when a patient sends someone they love to me. It lets me know I’m making the difference I want to make.”

Personalized Care

In this day of conveyor belt medicine, Dr. Guy makes a point to slow down and make his patients feel at ease. “We always schedule extra time when I meet a new patient,” he said. “I like to get to know my patients and let them get to know me. Plastic surgery is a very personal decision, and it’s important that we have a great working relationship. I also love teaching. The extra time helps make sure I answer every question they have, so they feel confident and comfortable about their decisions.”

When it comes to something as precious as your face, why would you trust it to anyone other than a facial plastic surgeon?

Natural-looking Results

Dr. Guy’s goal with every patient is to achieve natural-looking results. “I want my patients to look refreshed, never ‘done’,” he said. “Frequent comments our patients hear include, ‘Did you lose weight?’ and ‘Wow, you look great! Have you been getting more sleep?’. I love hearing new patients comment on how natural the results are in our before and after section, whether it is surgical or one of the many injectable treatments we offer.”

Patients for Life

Once you are a patient, Dr. Guy is always available for you. “There’s never any charge to check back with me,” he said. “The best part of my job is the relationships I form with the patients—that and hearing how thrilled they are with the results we’ve achieved. I’m lucky to be able to offer my patients the gift of feeling and looking great. Whether we’re correcting the results of a trauma or cancer or coaxing their neck or face back in time 10 or 15 years, I want every patient to look his or her best.”

Pioneering Technology

Always at the forefront of advancing technology, Dr. Guy offers his patients a three-dimensional (3D) computer modeling system which allows him to simulate the results of the changes he’ll make through facial plastic surgery. This is an excellent teaching tool to make sure the goals of surgery are what can be accomplished. The system captures multiple images of a patient’s face from multiple angles then stitches them into a 3D image. That image is displayed on a screen where the patient is able to see their real time image side-by-side with a posttreatment simulation. Then the patient and Dr. Guy are able to make adjustments to create their desired look and plan the best approach to get them there.

When it comes to injectable treatments, Dr. Guy offers the AccuVein vein finder, a device that helps to show blood vessels below the skin. This helps to substantially decrease the risk of bruising with fillers and Botox, leading to less bruising, less discomfort, and speedier recovery after treatment.

Marshall Guy was an exemplary student. He was captain of two varsity sports and highest-ranking graduate at St. Thomas High School. He was a member of the natural sciences honors program at the University of Texas, where he graduated with highest honors and a 4.0 GPA. Community Leader

A firm believer in doing whatever he can to make his community a better place, Dr. Guy volunteers with the Rotary Club of The Woodlands, most recently helping set up Rotary House.
