Receiving leading-edge spine care closer to home in Frisco is now more convenient than ever. Board certified, fellowship trained, award winning spine surgeon, Dr. Mark Valente, who has been in practice for over a decade in the metroplex, has opened his newest location in Frisco. A leader in his field, Dr. Valente provides innovative, effective, high-quality spine care. His goal is to help you live your life comfortably without back or neck pain. Countless patients who have traveled from throughout the Metroplex and the country to see him have enjoyed life-changing results.

World-Class, Minimally Invasive Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar Surgery

Dr. Valente performs minimally invasive spine surgery using sophisticated surgical navigation systems and robotic-assisted spinal surgery. His cutting-edge services include thorough, in-depth evaluation and comprehensive treatment plans that address conditions such as bulging discs, spinal stenosis, and scoliosis, to name a few. Dr. Valente also helps patients who have had previous back surgery enjoy a better quality of life with revision surgery.

“Approaches to minimally invasive spine surgery have been refined over the last several years. For patients, it means more options, more outpatient surgeries, faster recovery, and improved outcomes,” Dr. Valente says. An avid learner, Dr. Valente stays on the leading edge of his field and trials new technologies and techniques. “One interesting newer technology I’ve recently trialed uses an augmented reality guidance system. It’s a little like experiencing X-ray vision during surgery.”

Conservative Treatment First, Surgery as the Last Option

Dr. Valente says part of his job is to empower patients with knowledge about their condition and viable treatment options so they can make an educated decision.

“Surgery is only recommended when I have a very high level of confidence that it will significantly improve the patient’s condition, pain level, and quality of life, or if it’s warranted in an emergency situation,” he shares. “Around 90% of my patients never require surgery. Instead, conservative, nonsurgical treatments such as anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, chiropractic care, in-office trigger point injections, or steroid injections are first line of treatment.”

Dr. Valente has a high patient satisfaction rate and credits his talented staff for their contributions. “Everyone takes pride in providing great patient care by being responsive, attentive, compassionate, and knowledgeable. We have someone for each expertise in our office, such as insurance, billing, and scheduling, which enables us to offer an unparalleled quality of care from start to finish.”

I suffered with lower back pain for more than 40 years. I’ve been seen by multiple doctors over this time and diagnosed with just about everything imagineable. After a consult with Dr. Valente, I felt that for the first time I got a true, comprehensive diagnosis. A procedure was recommended, all questions were answered, and now I feel great!” – Larry C., patient of Dr. Valente

“After conservative treatments for chronic lower back pain have failed, patients who are good candidates now have a new choice to relieve their pain caused by degenerative disc disease or arthritis without undergoing spinal fusion,” Dr. Valente says. “This outpatient procedure ablates the basivertebral nerve using radiofrequency to relieve pain.”

Key Benefits:

  • Treatment option for patients who have not responded to conservative therapy
  • Minimally invasive outpatient procedure, 3-5 millimeter incision
  • Implant-free, preserves the spine structure and range of motion
  • Provides reliable relief of chronic low back pain
  • Alternative to spinal fusion
