At Dental Professionals of Rockwall, it’s no secret that Dr. Brigette Koetter’s remarkable passion for dentistry is equaled only to her desire for long-lasting relationships with her patients. Her delightful personality and her friendly, welcoming staff make coming to the dentist a pleasure. Her office provides a comfortable and stress-free atmosphere, even while the rest of the world seems anxious about healthcare safety.

With patients’ safety at the forefront, Dr. Koetter utilizes all personal protection equipment currently mandated by the CDC. Screening patients when they enter, wearing masks, face shields, and gloves, and using aggressive disinfection procedures are all used for everyone’s safety. Although she appreciated the extended family time during the pandemic quarantine, Dr. Koetter says, “We were so excited to get back to work and see our wonderful patients!”

Welcome Wendy Steger, DDS

Dr. Koetter is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Wendy Steger to her practice. “Adding Dr. Steger to my team allows us to be more accessible and see additional patients on Fridays,” she says.

Born in Toronto in Ontario, Canada, Dr. Steger moved to Austin, Texas as a young child and considers herself a true Texan. She earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the University of Texas at Austin in 2009. She furthered her education at Texas A&M Health Science Center in 2012, attaining her master’s degree in biomedical science research. She completed her education at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in 2017, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During dental school, she received many awards and accolades, including a Community Leadership award, Delta Dental Student Leadership award, and General Dentistry and Texas Association of Women Dentist awards.

Additionally, Dr. Steger is an adjunct assistant professor in the Public Health Department at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry, providing supervision of dental students at outreach programs.

“I enjoy shaping and molding young dentists, instructing them in real-world dental techniques,” Dr. Steger says. She is a member of many professional dental organizations and serves on the board of directors and peer review committee for the Dallas County Dental Society. Leisure time is spent with her husband Joshua, daughter Kaia, and their three dogs. She leads a healthy lifestyle and is a self-proclaimed yoga enthusiast.

CEREC Crowns in One Appointment

Seeking to provide her patients with the most up-to-date information and technological advances, Dr. Koetter is pleased to announce the addition of CEREC high-grade porcelain crowns. “The introduction of this innovative technology enables us to create and seat these crowns conveniently in one visit,” she explains.

The appointment begins with a small camera inserted in the mouth to create a 3D impression of the teeth, unlike traditional crowns requiring gooey, uncomfortable impressions. Traditional crowns also require multiple appointments, but CEREC crowns provide an expedient alternative. Made with computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), CEREC crowns look and function like natural teeth, offering a perfect fit thanks to computer aided technology’s accuracy and precision. The entire process is more comfortable for patients and convenient for those with busy schedules or young children. The entire single-visit process only takes a few hours.

Comprehensive Care

Dr. Koetter is well-versed in all aspects of dentistry. She has completed continuing education in root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. Providing comprehensive dentistry for the whole family, Dr. Koetter’s primary focus is on helping her patients maintain optimal oral health. “The mouth is the human body’s portal to good health and wellness. Keeping the teeth, mouth, and gums clean is an important step in the body’s overall wellness process.”

First Appointment

When visiting the office for the first time, Dr. Koetter gives each patient an honest assessment of their current dental health, thoroughly discussing each procedure before any treatment begins. This helps to eliminate any surprises or added anxiety. Each patient is then advised on the best treatment option for their individual situation.

“My amazing staff and I are blessed to work in the same community in which we live. We enjoy seeing our neighbors and friends in the office and treat everyone with the same respect and compassion that we treat our own families.” Some patients have a great deal of anxiety about going to the dentist, but the team’s empathetic and calming approach helps alleviate discomfort and promotes relaxation. Massaging dental chairs and TVs in every room are an added bonus patients appreciate and enjoy.

Graduating from The University of Oklahoma in 2002, Dr. Koetter was honored as an OU scholar. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2007.

While in dental school, she served two years as a teaching assistant for the undergraduate orthodontic department. She was one of three students recognized as a Senior Departmental Advanced Studies program participant in orthodontics and was honored with the John C. and Ruberta Weaver Award for Excellence in Periodontics and Prosthodontics. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Her award-winning work in prosthodontics and orthodontics enables patients to receive continuity of care throughout their dental treatment.
