Alisa Reed, DDS
When you visit Dental Designs By Alisa Reed, you’ll meet a friendly, knowledgeable dental team where each person is highly trained and absolutely committed to providing the highest quality in dental care. Need a smile makeover? Dr. Alisa Reed and her team stand ready to help you achieve your smile goals with ease. “I’m from Louisiana, and was brought up hearing the term, ‘lagniappe,’ which means ‘a little something extra’ and I approach my practice with that attitude in mind. It’s all about giving above and beyond to our patients,” she says.
Serving The Woodlands and surrounding areas, Dental Designs By Alisa Reed has two locations for your convenience—one on Medical Plaza Drive and the other, headed by Dr. Michelle Boecker (hand-chosen by Dr. Reed) is in Panther Creek.
Both Dental Designs locations offer a variety of services, all in place to correct any dental issues you may have so these specialists can design a smile just for you—a smile which speaks for itself. A few of the many services provided include:
General dentistry. When asked about the best ways to stay fit and healthy, most people would immediately say “regular exercise” and “healthy eating” pave the way. They’d be right, but only partially. Many people forget that multiple research studies have found dental health to be as important as the other two for maintaining a holistic healthy lifestyle.
“For years, insurance companies have acted as if the mouth is somehow separate from the body. But starting in about 2010, studies have shown just how linked dental and body health actually are. If your mouth isn’t healthy, your body probably isn’t either,” Dr. Reed explains.
Cosmetic dentistry. “Cosmetic dentistry is an important part of dental health,” says Dr. Reed. When your teeth aren’t as strong or healthy looking as you’d like, it makes it difficult to smile. That can really have an adverse effect on the way you feel about yourself.” Cosmetic dentistry can involve an array of procedures like: minimal-prep veneers, full-mouth restoration, gum reconditioning, crown lengthening, composite bonding, whitening, and aligner orthodontics.
Restorative dentistry. You might think you don’t need restorative dentistry as long as you’ve always taken good care of your teeth. Dr. Alisa Reed would probably tell you that’s a bit of a misconception by saying, “Regardless of how well you’ve cared for your teeth by keeping up with general dentist appointments, taking care to eat tooth-healthy foods, and avoiding sugary drinks, no one is immune to unexpected dental disasters.”
Dr. Reed and her wonderful team have helped countless patients in The Woodlands area restore even the most broken, damaged teeth. She partners with patients to help them restore youthful strength and beauty to their smiles.
Sleep apnea treatment. When Dr. Reed and her team examine your mouth, neck, jaw, sinuses, and other oral structures, they can see if you have any abnormalities. Examples include excessive or enlarged soft tissue in the throat, enlarged adenoids, enlarged tongue, excessive overbite, and other things that can cause sleep apnea.
“Please let us know right away if you snore,” says Dr. Reed. “Snoring is certainly a nuisance which may disturb your partner’s sleep, but it can also be an indicator of something much worse—sleep apnea.” With sleep apnea you don’t truly get a good night’s sleep. You actually may stop breathing for several seconds or more each night! Dr. Reed can fit you with a small, comfortable oral appliance that gently and safely holds your mouth and throat open during sleep.
Your vision — Dr. Reed’s expertise
The vision you hold for your smile will come to life under Dr. Reed’s expert care. Even if you haven’t taken care of your dental health and feel as if your teeth are “too far gone” to save, go see Dr. Reed. “I encourage all of my patients. There’s no reason to hesitate coming into our offices for a consultation. I run a strictly non-judgemental practice. No matter what your teeth look like, come on in,” she implores potential patients. “When you get here, then I can assess your dental situation and have a detailed conversation with you about your goals. We can go from there and make our game plan for capturing your future brilliant smile.”
Dr. Reed says that her main goal involves understanding what the patient really wants. She always puts patients and their goals first. What’s more, Dr. Reed and her team deliver all treatments and care with a gentle, compassionate touch that’s backed up with the latest advancements and technology, such as: lasers, cone beam imaging, intraoral cameras, and much more.
Why should you go for Dental Designs? “Actually, all of our dentistry is cosmetic,” admits Dr. Reed. Whether you visit for preventative dentistry, restorative procedures, cosmetic enhancements, or emergency care, Dr. Reed and her team ensure your mouth is healthier and your smile looks better than it did before.
While Dr. Reed has decades of experience and knows every aspect of the science behind giving patients the smile of their dreams, it takes more than knowledge of procedure and science. It takes an artist’s eye—one that can see a patient’s vision and then employ the science and techniques to properly bring it to life. “No case is the same,” she explains. “Patient one may have exactly the same problems as patient two on paper, but they really aren’t the same. When you take genetic differences like dental arch width and shape into account, as well as other aspects, you’ll see that the two patients are nothing alike.”
She explained that it’s critical to take each case individually and marry the science with the art and the patient’s desires. No one wants a “fix” that’s cookie-cutter. People want, and deserve, to have the smile they dream of and a treatment that not only addresses how things look, but also places due importance on long-term health. And don’t let any fears of cost hold you back. Dr. Reed, and Dr. Boecker offer a number of custom finance solutions that can give you the flexibility and freedom to achieve your goals without financial stress.
