Cooking to Change Lives

The 8th Annual Big Crawfish Bash

BY CHERYL RUSDAL

In 2015, a couple of friends wanted to hangout, eat some good food and have some fun. They got tired of their same old cooking and decided to spice up the fun. Little did they know in doing so they would create one of Galveston County’s most anticipated fun-filled events of the year! This coming April 2, will be the 8th annual Big Crawfish Bash (BACB), held at Highland Bayou Park in La Marque, Texas.

President and CEO, Quentin Severin, and his wife Stefanie, along with fellow organizers Jason Long and Rebecca Martinez, are proud to donate 100% of the proceeds from their Big Crawfish Bash to charities. Quentin said, “We donate to charities where the money gets directly to those who need it.” He added, “If local charities would like to get involved, they can receive a free booth as long as they are promoting their charity and give 100% of their proceeds directly back to their charity.”

Since 2015, the BACB foundation has donated over $400,000 to charities that are close to their hearts. Some of the foundations main charities are Camp Hope, Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), and Special Olympics. Camp Hope provides help for veterans struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and with the transition from military to civilian life. The Underground Railroad (O.U.R.) paves the way for the permanent eradication of child sex trafficking through coordinated rescue and recovery planning. Donating to the Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in Olympic-type sports for children and adults with special needs.

Quentin announced that in 2022 there will be 120 spaces available for crawfish cooking teams to showcase their talents. If you are interested in participating in the 8th annual bash, cooking teams can contact [email protected]. The BACB foundation will provide the live crawfish, all you need to contribute is delicious food and smiles. If you are not a cook and just want to enjoy the food and festival, patrons can purchase a $20 presale ticket with all-you-can-eat access to each cooking vendor, family kid zone and live music! Sponsors are encouraged to contact the event coordinators to ensure maximum exposure with 11K potential views. Also, please consider a donation if you would like to help.

Tickets to this fun-filled family event can be purchased online now. Quentin and his fellow organizers are proud of all that the Big Crawfish Bash Foundation has accomplished so far over the years and are excited to see the progress in years to come!
