Available When Parents Need Them

Here’s what Jaymie C. had to share. “I took my infant here to address his lip and tongue ties. The staff was kind and responsive, and Dr. Ben Curtis thoroughly answered my many questions. The procedure was fast, and I was told exactly what to do to care for my baby as he healed. The five-star experience here is that a few weeks after the procedure, I was concerned about how it was healing, and I was able to send in a picture and get a response from the doctor immediately. The response time and level of care is fantastic.” In reply, the CDCI staff assured Jaymie they’re never more than a phone call or a text away.

Kid-friendly Dentistry

It was reviews like Mayra’s and Jaymie’s that helped Rachel M. know where to go to find compassionate care for her six-year-old. She composed her own five-star review, “The reception area has a fun, little area for kids to play. We were called pretty quickly to the back. The thing I really appreciated was that Emma spoke to my daughter directly. She addressed her, introduced herself, and showed her around the office. I could immediately see my daughter was comfortable. After getting X-rays, they put a movie on and gave her a small teddy. When Rocio took over, she was very pleasant to talk to, very informative, and answered all my questions. Dr. Kuba was so kind and very informative. Everything went well. My daughter left and was so excited. She’s definitely looking forward to going back to her next appointment.”

Worth the Drive

Brenda P. drives 45 minutes to bring her kids to CDCI because she says, “They take care of my babies” adding, “Each and every staff member is pleasant and kind. They’re always welcoming and organized. They have the best services in DFW, and my kids love going here.”

A Heartfelt Thank You

Each year, the CDCI team hosts an annual patient-appreciation event to thank their patients and let them know how important they are to them. This year marks the eighth-annual celebration, which was just held at the Dallas Zoo. “Each patient is invited to bring two adults and we pay their way in,” said Dr. Reena Kuba. “It’s always a super-fun day and the least we can do to thank families for entrusting us with their children’s care. Each patient receives a free t-shirt commemorating the event. After five or six years, patients have a nice, little collection of shirts and they love wearing them to appointments.”

Paying it Forward

Families are encouraged to bring non-perishable food and hygiene products along to the patient-appreciation event where the CDCI staff gathers them for Irving Cares. Each year, the patients and staff are proud to contribute a pickup truck full of donations to help Irving residents experiencing a financial crisis. Dr. Kuba believes strongly in being an active member of the community. It’s not uncommon for CDCI to meet local needs by hosting a blood drive or serving as a Toys for Tots donation drop-off point.

Meet the Caring Providers

Dr. Reena Kuba founded Children’s Dental Centre of Irving in 2010 with the mission to provide high-quality, customized dental care for kids while also creating positive dental memories. “Kids who have positive dental experiences are more likely to continue visiting the dentist as an adult,” says Dr. Kuba. “Healthy kids equal healthy adults. We’re not focused on only the baby teeth. We want to see your child’s oral health last a lifetime.”

As the practice grew, she was joined by Drs. Ben Curtis, Alvin Michael, and Kavitha Vishwanathan. “I looked for providers who share my practice philosophy of putting the kids first, educating the parents, and taking time to build partnerships of trust with both,” Dr. Kuba said. “I know that families who visit our office will be in great hands, no matter which provider they choose.”

Partnering with Parents

Twelve years ago, CDCI changed the face of pediatric dentistry in this area with their child-friendly office. Within this bright, cheerful practice, the CDCI team tailors care to each individual patient and partners with parents to make oral health a natural part of each child’s life. They emphasize the importance of preventive measures by using photos, models, and cartoons to engage both the parents and the kids to learn about oral care. When treatment is required, the CDCI team carefully explains options and advantages of each, so families can make the best choices for their kids.

Latest Technology

From the beginning, Dr. Kuba and her team have been at the leading edge of dental technology, taking time to evaluate each new breakthrough and investing in the ones that will improvement their patients’ experience. “A few years ago, we invested in laser dentistry, one of the few pediatric dental practices to bring this technology to the Metroplex,” says Dr. Kuba. The laser allows a more conservative approach to fixing cavities, with less aerosols and often without the need for shots and has given CDCI the opportunity to help babies with lip and tongue ties.

“My team isn’t intimidated to incorporate cutting-edge services like esthetic zirconia crowns, silver diamine fluoride, and laser bacterial reduction,” Dr. Kuba said. “They love offering our patients choices to meet their oral health goals.” The CDCI team is committed to going above and beyond with continuing education to stay at the leading edge and continue to provide their young patients with the best in anxiety-free preventative and restorative dentistry.
