A Different Kind of Healthcare

When walking onto the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center — Frisco campus, it’s easy to mistake it for a beautiful hotel nestled in the Frisco landscape rather than an industry-leading hospital. With a cozy fireplace in its lobby and patient-focused staff waiting to greet you with open arms, Baylor Frisco sets the standard for care in Frisco and has been doing so since 2002. Ensuring the health and well-being of patients is their first and foremost priority, and their reputation reflects this commitment.
“From the staff who maintain our facility to our highly-trained nurses and board-certified surgeons, our team is fully dedicated to our patients and providing them with exceptional care,” said Trevor Castaneda, CEO. “Because of this extraordinary team, we have earned a stellar reputation in our community as well as recognition nationally.”
Their Specialty Is You
In an industry where everyone’s goal is to provide the highest level of care, it can be difficult to differentiate yourself. That’s why the Baylor Frisco team goes to such great lengths to ensure patients and their families feel at home. Family-centered care is their priority. Delivering approximately 200 babies each month, their labor and delivery department provides each expectant mother with a dedicated nurse and specialists to keep your family safe, joyful, and in the moment. With a birthing plan unique to each patient, the latest safety protocols to keep moms healthy, a NICU, and online pregnancy and childbirth classes, they are ready to help each family meet their new addition. Parents are even treated to a celebratory lobster and steak dinner prepared by the hospital’s in-house executive chef before they head home.
Patients at Baylor Frisco can expect to be active participants in their care before, during, and after surgery. The hospital provides access to board-certified surgeons in specialties from orthopedics to urology and beyond. And as patients receive their care, their loved ones also do not have to worry about being left in the dark, as the goal is to keep them informed throughout the process with technology in place to communicate every step in their loved one’s journey.
“We stress compassion for our patients and their families,” Castaneda said. “Empathy is a keyword for everyone in our building. It is so important to take a step back to understand what patients are going through and then guide them with respect and kindness.”
Comfort and Care Not Mutually Exclusive
Baylor Frisco employs highly-specialized surgical teams and focuses on emerging technologies that benefit their patients. They were one of the first hospitals in North Texas to implement highly advanced robotic technology to improve precision, control, and enhanced vision, which can translate to a quicker recovery for patients. “We aim to use the best technology possible to enhance the healthcare we can provide to our community,” said Castaneda, “Our da Vinci Xi robots used in robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgery, for example, provide our surgeons with advanced instrumentation that results in a higher degree of surgical precision, minimal scarring, and faster healing times, thus getting patients back to what matters most to them.”
To help patients prepare for surgery, the hospital offers a variety of free seminars and classes, including the Passport to Mobility for joint replacement patients and weight loss surgery support groups for bariatric patients. From labor and delivery to surgical procedures, the hospital provides education on how best to prepare, what to expect while in the hospital, preventing post-operative complications, discharge planning, and more.
Real Results That Make a Difference
Nothing was overlooked in the wonderfully balanced blend of comfort, innovative technology, and healing you will find at Baylor Frisco. During this pandemic, Baylor Frisco has taken every step to ensure patient safety, with a Safe Care plan that ensures the health of patients, staff, and physicians at every point in the hospital.
“We encourage our community not to risk their health by delaying procedures that can improve their quality of life,” Castaneda said. “We have taken all the necessary precautions and put the right processes in place ahead of time to ensure their safety and outstanding clinical outcomes.”
