Exceptional Orthodontic Care for Happier, Healthier Smiles
Luke Bailey, DDS, MSD
Last year, when the opportunity to open an office in Flower Mound was presented to Dr. Luke Bailey, it wasn’t about expanding for the sake of expansion. It was about bringing their unique approach to orthodontic care to the Flower Mound community. Dr. Bailey and his service-oriented team share a passion for serving their community, patients, and one another with an eye on being proactive and conservative at the same time.
“Many Flower Mound families were coming to see us in Coppell. It became clear that our special brand of care, comfort, and creativity was highly sought after,” Dr. Bailey says.
Leading-Edge, Comprehensive Orthodontics
Why were so many people driving from Flower Mound to Coppell to see Dr. Bailey? Simply put, he makes people smile. The office atmosphere is positive, uplifting, and convivial, and Dr. Bailey’s knowledge and skills are second to none. Part of his practice is dedicated to straightening teeth and improving smile esthetics for adults and children alike. As a leader in his field, he uses cutting-edge systems that produce better results with fewer visits and shortened treatment times, including cosmetically appealing options such as Invisalign.
But that’s not all. Dr. Bailey also focuses on preventive care. With advanced technology and early detection he can help prevent children from developing more significant problems than just a bad bite or crooked teeth. The focus is to avoid breathing problems, sleep issues, and other dental and growth conditions that lead to detrimental health issues down the line.
For Dr. Bailey, this is personal. “I was a mouth breather as a kid,” he confides. “I had braces for six years, but back then we didn’t have the technology to identify and address the underlying problem. I still have breathing issues at night that could have been treated and resolved with orthodontics if detected early.”
“There are two trains of thought in orthodontics,” Dr. Bailey explains, using an analogy. “The first is to fix the wrecked car,” he says. “The second is avoid the accident all together.” Dr. Bailey offers both, with a growing emphasis on the latter. “Early preventive care can either make the need for later orthodontic treatment unnecessary or minimize the treatment length and extent. It sets kids up for long-term health versus costly long-term dental treatment.”
Did You Know?
Orthodontists understand the complexity of growth development and facial form, and the American Association of Orthodontists recommends a check-up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age seven.
Dr. Bailey sees young children for evaluation and early treatment. A recent example is a six-year-old who was referred to him by a speech pathologist. Upon examination, he determined the patient had a narrow, high arching palate, lack of tongue space, and tonsil and adenoid issues that needed to be addressed.
“After just six to eight months of treatment with an oral appliance and collaboration with an ENT, the issues have been corrected,” Dr. Bailey says. “This well-tolerated, minimal treatment helped avoid future health and dental problems and lengthier, more invasive medical treatment later on.”
Using the COVID-19 Shut Down to Improve and Train
Instead of taking several weeks off, Dr. Bailey and his team used the time to grow their knowledge base. They completed continuing education classes and team-wide training on the practice’s 3D cone beam imaging system. Additionally, the office was renovated, Zoom consultations are now available, and new, stringent safety, social distancing, and disinfecting protocols have been implemented due to COVID-19. “The safety and health of our patients comes first,” Dr. Bailey says. “At Bailey Orthodontics, we are proactive in our treatment and in our creativity in this evolving environment.”
If you are considering treatment for yourself, there is no better place than Bailey Orthodontics. Dr. Bailey is an expert in fully developed adult smiles as well as little smiles. Over a third of their patients are adults. ”With advanced technology, Invisalign, and diagnostic tools, we can make tremendous improvements in adult smiles as well as long-term dental and physiological health.”

“Dr. Bailey and his staff are awesome. The orthodontic treatment and care provided for my two sons has been excellent. Dr. Bailey has a terrific sense of humor and is relaxed, fun, and engaging. He relates to the teens so well which makes going to his office for a check-up easy. My kids never complain and that says a lot!” – Susan E.
“If it weren’t for Dr. Bailey, I would have had surgery on my jaw and a root canal. But all I needed was realignment. Both my boys have also gone to Dr. Bailey and their smiles are beautiful. Everyone is just so friendly and very professional. Thank you.” – Beverly M.
