Dr. Susan Pedott has been helping patients conserve their natural smiles for nearly 25 years. “I’m thrilled to join Ace Endodontics Cypress,” says Dr. Pedott, who specializes in saving teeth. “Above all, we want you to know that a root canal doesn’t have to hurt.”
We’ve all heard jokes centered around painful root canals, but in the hands of Dr. Pedott, a root canal and endodontic surgery specialist, it can be an anxiety-free and virtually painless experience. Her calming demeanor helps reduce patient anxiety, along with special amenities such as weighted blankets, essential oils, eye covers, headphones, a choice of music, and the availability of nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation. She even dims the lights and works with a headlamp for patients who need a soothing, dark room. At the end of every day, she calls each patient she treated to make sure they’re doing well and having no problems.
Dr. Pedott appreciates the personal approach her career affords and enjoys taking care of her patients with genuine compassion and understanding. In turn, patients say she is the ultimate professional to visit when a root canal or surgical endodontics are needed. Five-star reviews like this one speak volumes.
“The doctor made a point to call me personally the evening of my root canal procedure to see how I was doing and followed up multiple times. She truly cares and listens to my concerns. She stands behind her work 100 percent and that is rare these days in any field. I feel confident in her ability and level of care.” –T. Dale
Dr. Pedott’s discovery of her natural aptitude in dentistry was serendipitous. While working as a part-time dental assistant in the late 1980s, her dentist and employer was so impressed she said, “You’re too good to be on that side of the chair. You should be a dentist!” It was an “Aha!” moment for Dr. Pedott who had graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in sculpture.
Feeling empowered and inspired, Dr. Pedott earned her DMD degree from the esteemed Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and received a postdoctoral degree in endodontics from New York University (NYU), where she also taught clinical endodontics. Before moving to Texas, she opened a private endodontics practice in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and was on staff at local hospitals teaching clinical endodontics to dental residents.
Dr. Pedott keeps up with the latest technology and methods in endodontics through continuing education and personal study. Active in her church and as a community volunteer, she also enjoys music, concerts, and loves making her own intricate jewelry while her cat, Kaylee, and dog, Alfie, keep her company.
If you’ve been told you need a root canal or endodontic surgery or want a second opinion before losing a natural tooth, schedule a consultation with Dr. Susan Pedott and the friendly team at ACE Endodontics Cypress. Most dental insurance plans are accepted.
