Young Cho, MD, PhD
Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Young Cho is Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon and the Director and Owner of Integrated Aesthetics in Spring, Texas. The practice serves patients in Houston, The Woodlands, Spring, Cypress, Tomball Kingwood and the surrounding areas. Dr Cho positions himself as the Aesthetic Guide for his patients and for fellow practitioners. He wants to help his patients that want the educational experience as well as guide them in the right direction. He puts an emphasis on building trust through education. “Are they being realistic about their expectations? I help them understand what works best for them by putting together a customized aesthetic plan,” explains Dr. Cho. He continues, “Whether their goal is to slow down the aging process-also known as maintenance, or whether they want to reverse the aging process, I always strive for the natural appearance and my patients are very happy with the results.”
Foundation in Education and Research
Dr. Cho has a love of learning and considers himself a perpetual student. His educational journey began in Montreal, Canada where he received a Bachelor of Science from McGill University. Dr. Cho’s initial desire was scientific research which led him to England where he completed his graduate work in biological chemistry and earned a Ph.D. at Cambridge University. He applied to medical school to prepare for a career as a research scientist and Dr. Cho was accepted into Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Cho recalled,
“I went with the idea of pursuing internal medicine with a specialization in infectious diseases. But as it turned out I enjoyed working with my hands and was amazed how surgeons could help patients transform themselves – internally and externally.”
Dr. Cho completed his Plastic Surgery Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
While studying at medical school, Dr. Cho’s first rotation was plastic surgery and he explains,
“Seeing cancer reconstruction surgery of the breast performed on three different patients at various stages of their breast reconstruction impacted my career path. Witnessing these surgeries had a profound effect on me and I realized that a plastic surgeon could make a real difference in people’s lives.”
During his residency, Dr Cho was awarded a prestigious Fellowship from National Institute of Health (NIH) to develop an animal model to understand how the brain reacts in response to nerve injury. His research has led to multi-year (NIH) funding for future residents to further develop his work. In his current practice, Dr Cho is continuing to fuel his passion for research by conducting clinical trials that focus on developing new aesthetic indications and procedures.
Commitment to innovation and patient outcomes
Though Dr Cho is a plastic surgeon, he has invested a great deal of his time and resources developing the non-surgical aspect of his practice. He understands that many patients are seeking less invasive options to meet their aesthetic goals. He also believes that the aesthetics industry has gone through many innovations that can help patients improve outcomes with less downtime. “I love plastic surgery and understand that technology is a long way from replacing plastic surgery all together, but I love learning about and introducing new technologies that strive to reduce the degree of invasiveness that a patient must endure to get their desired outcome. During a patient consult, I like to understand the patient concerns and their goals and then present with a range of options spanning from non-surgical to minimally-invasive to surgical. Very often, I will recommend combining several different treatment options to optimize the results for the patients,” states Dr Cho.
Dr Cho has a history of bringing on the latest technologies to the practice and has been amongst the first to introduce to the Houston market some of the leading aesthetics technologies.
Greater Houston’s first plastic surgery practice to introduce:
- Coolsculpting, the gold standard for non-surgical fat reduction
- Ultherapy, for non-surgical facial tightening/lifting
- miraDry, a permanent solution reduce armpit sweating

Commitment to teaching the art and science of aesthetics to others
Dr. Cho loves teaching and is committed to improving the safety of efficacy of aesthetic procedures. He believes it is the responsibilities of leaders in aesthetics to teach others how to assess patients and perform procedures with a foundation in anatomy and safety. All too often Dr. Cho sees patients with complications that stems from inadequate education and training on the part of the provider. For his part, Dr. Cho has been teaching for many of the world’s leading aesthetics companies. He travels both locally and nationally teaching others in the art of facial injectables and the use of medical technologies. He has trained over a thousand physicians and mid-level providers on facial injectables and runs his own advanced trainings to help develop injectors reach the next level of outcomes-based learning.
Dr Cho is a national trainer or he has developed a center of excellence for:
- Allergan: makers of Botox and the Juvederm family of injectables
- Galderma: makers of Dysport, Sculptra and the Restylane family of injectables
- Syneron Candela: for their Profound RF
- Sinclair Pharma: makers of the Silhouette Instalift, a non-surgical facial thread lift

Many of Dr Cho’s trainees will send him their more challenging patients that are outside their skill set or if they don’t have the right devices that may best serve the patient’s needs. In addition, many of the trainees chose Dr Cho to help guide them along their own aesthetic journey.
