Danny Wright, DDS and
Deborah C. Sullivan, DDS, MS
When a medical practice is repeatedly voted best in their field, there’s a reason. When that practice is Pediatric Dentistry of Mansfield—voted best pediatric dentist five years running—there are, in fact, several reasons. To begin with Drs. Deborah Sullivan and Danny Wright share a philosophy of empowering a generation of confident, fearless dental patients and helping parents raise cavity-free kids. “I truly believe God has gifted me to calm, comfort, and help other people—especially the littlest ones,” Dr. Sullivan said.
Dr. Danny Wright is totally onboard.
“We view it as a privilege to be a part of our young patients’ lives and take pride in educating them in establishing healthy oral habits,” he said. “Our aim is to provide a fun, non-threatening environment that allows children to actually enjoy coming to the dentist.”
Parents couldn’t agree more. Drs. Sullivan and Wright and their staff hear from astonished parents, all the time, whose children ask when they can return to the dentist. “God calls us to serve others and to try to bring joy to other people,” Dr. Wright said. “Our goal is to take care of our patients’ dental needs. But more importantly, we want to do it in a way that’s pleasant and easy for the child to tolerate.”
At Pediatric Dentistry of Mansfield, parents are included in the dental experience. Whether it’s a new patient exam, a regular check-up and cleaning, or a restorative treatment, parents are encouraged to accompany their children into the treatment areas. Dentist, hygienist, and assistant engage with the parents and educate them about helping their children develop optimum dental hygiene habits, discussing diet and sharing useful hints.
In their continuing mission to “to treat the child, not the tooth”, they gear advice toward each child’s individual needs—whether it’s steering children with braces toward a spot that’s being missed when brushing or coming up with creative solutions for brushing a reluctant toddler’s teeth.
Drs. Sullivan and Wright use only white fillings and aesthetic white crowns, whenever possible. All dental treatment is planned to keep children as relaxed as possible. They provide all levels of anxiety-reducing sedation and work with parents to determine the best modality for each individual child. When necessary, both doctors can also provide treatment at Cook’s Children’s Hospital, Methodist Mansfield Hospital, or Texas Pediatric Surgery Center. Both doctors are Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Twice a year, the Pediatric Dentistry of Mansfield staff volunteers at Mission Arlington helping underserved children, who otherwise may never see a dentist. They continue that helping spirit throughout the year by working with the Save-A-Smile Foundation, Give Kids A Smile, and dental mission trips to countries around the world.
Pediatric Dentistry of Mansfield offers convenient before and after-school appointments and 24-hour emergency call service. They are now accepting new patients.
