Bones break, joints wear out. Accidents, arthritis, and trauma occur. Ligaments and tendons get damaged. Life happens, and when it does, you can count on the gifted board certified orthopedists at Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center (OSMC)
to help.

OSMC’s prominent team of Top Docs and their friendly staff are committed to providing the highest level of complete, compassionate, and personalized orthopedic care and services to patients of all ages. Customized treatment plans include nonsurgical options as well as surgical solutions, with the goal of helping patients achieve the best outcomes possible and maximizing their mobility and movement through innovative technologies and advanced care.

Drs. Johnson, Klein, Vo, and Zoys point out that the majority of their patients get better without surgery through a program of exercise, injections, bracing, and pain management specifically tailored to them and their condition. Surgery is viewed as a last resort after conservative measures have been ineffective, or when surgery is the only or the best option.

The OSMC team puts patients first, spending time with them during appointments to listen, get to know them, and understand their concerns before diagnosing and discussing treatment options and recommendations. When surgery is indicated, Drs. Johnson,
Vo, and Zoys use minimally invasive techniques whenever possible. Dr. Klein focuses his practice on nonsurgical treatments.

“New technology allows us to operate through smaller incisions,” Drs. Johnson, Vo, and Zoys explain. “With less trauma to the operation site, there’s usually less scarring, shorter recovery time, less risk of infection, and much less pain. Additionally, advanced pain control techniques allow us to keep discomfort at a minimum, which also makes recovery quicker and easier.”

Meet the Doctors

OSMC’s physicians are at the top of their game and fellows in the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (FAAOS). Visit OSMCG.com to read their complete bios.

Dr. Todd Johnson is fellowship-trained in sports medicine, reconstructive procedures, and joint replacement. He has special interests in sports medicine, joint replacement and orthopedic trauma. Recognized by MPIRICA as a “Surgeon of Excellence,” Dr. Johnson was only one of three knee replacement surgeons in DFW who ranked (or performed) at or above the 90th percentile for surgeons across the country. He has also been named one of the “Best Doctors in Dallas” by D Magazine and is a four-time Living Magazine Readers’ Choice Best Orthopedic Surgeon award winner.

“We take pride in treating patients as we would want to be treated with honesty, understanding, sympathy, and empathy. Our patients further appreciate that they are always seen by a board certified doctor at OSMC, versus a PA only,” Dr. Johnson says.

Dr. Jeffrey Klein has special interests in sports medicine, trauma, and conservative nonsurgical treatments. He currently focuses his practice on conservative, nonsurgical treatments. He has served as medical consultant to the Garland Independent School District and as a treating physician for the City of Garland employees for over 25 years.

“Our approach to each patient is do no harm. We’re sincere and listen carefully to our patients first, then follow with an exam and diagnostics. Sitting down and listening to patients is becoming a bit of a lost art today in medicine, in my opinion, but not at OSMC,” says Dr. Klein.

Dr. Duc Vo specializes in disorders of the hand and upper-extremity but continues to treat a wide breadth of orthopedic and sports medicine injuries. He practices arthroscopic shoulder and wrist surgery, as well as less invasive endoscopic carpal tunnel release. He is also trained in shoulder replacement surgery.

“The four of us gel together as a cohesive team. We have the same philosophy of patient-centric care and believe in taking conservative measures first, before surgery. And patients have the benefit of four heads instead of one, as we often consult with each other on complex or unique cases,” Dr. Vo says.

Dr. George Zoys is fellowship-trained in sports medicine and participated in orthopedic coverage of the Sydney, Australia 2000 Olympic Games. He has special interests in sports medicine, trauma, and joint replacement. He is a 13-time D Magazine “Best Doctors in Dallas” winner and two-time D Magazine “Best Doctors in Collin County” winner.

“We listen to our patients and ask them what they want to accomplish. Athletes usually want to get back into the game, whereas others may just want to walk and do the things they love most. There’s nothing more gratifying than helping patients get back to their life,” says Dr. Zoys.

Patients Love the OSMC Top Docs

“Dr. Zoys replaced my knee a year ago. When I started having problems with my shoulder, I immediately went back to him. Top notch doc with some amazing skills. Highly recommended.”

“Dr. Vo has repaired two dislocations and broken bones I’ve sustained. Ever since meeting him, all my family and friends go to him if they get hurt. He’s simply the best. Truly cares about his patients, genuinely nice, excellent memory, and all around a good person. If you have any potential bone related problems or back pain, he is the Dr. to see in all of north Texas.”

“I was worked into a full schedule due to a broken foot. The staff was courteous, X-ray tech gentle, and Dr. Johnson was empathetic. No double-talk or patronizing, just great diagnosing with lots of explanations (from Dr. Johnson). I got a boot and a follow-up appointment. Loved this practice!”

“Dr. Klein is always a breath of fresh air. He treats patients like family, answers any and all questions without making you feel rushed or like he is put out. He has a very calm and caring demeanor and is welcoming and comforting. I trust him completely. As always, I highly recommend him.”
