Kallal Medical Group isn’t your typical family medicine practice. Over the 25-plus years he’s been practicing in Keller, Dr. Kevin J. Kallal has expanded his team to keep pace with the community, but that’s not all. As he sees the need for vital services grow among his patients, he has added them to Kallal Medical Group. In turn, his patients enjoy the convenience of having more services offered under one roof as well as seamless continuity of care.
Kallal Medical Group is a full-service medical practice and then some, from weight loss management, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for men and women, and travel medicine to allergy testing and treatment and minimally invasive varicose vein treatment with no downtime. These services are in addition to preventive medicine, pediatric care, and the usual treatments and disease management services typically offered by a family medicine practice.
Although the practice has expanded over the years, the friendly team at Kallal Medical Group has maintained a know you by name level of care. As Dr. Kallal puts it,
“We offer a modern appeal with an approachable, welcoming hometown flair.” He adds, “The Keller area is our community—our home. It’s gratifying to help fellow members of the community reach for optimal health and wellness with preventive medicine as well as advanced treatments that improve the way they feel, their quality of life, and even their longevity.”
Services Designed for Today’s Patient
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is a great example of Dr. Kallal’s whole patient approach. Hormone levels dwindle as we age. This can lead to weight gain, loss of muscle mass, low energy, low libido, hot flashes, erectile dysfunction in men, and much more. By offering bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for women and “low T” treatment for men, Kallal Medical Group helps patients restore their vitality, sense of well-being, and zest for life.
Russell Daily, PA-C, has a wealth of knowledge and special skills in hormone replacement and weight management, and has developed locally and nationally recognized protocols.
“We look at the whole picture and get to the source of a symptom before treating it, such as fatigue,” says Mr. Daily. “A complete blood panel and physical is performed so we can look for a variety of things, including those that can kill you like heart disease. This evaluation can be part of an annual comprehensive lab testing that is covered by most insurance plans.”
Jill Rowland, PA-C, adds, “We take the time to listen closely to our patients to understand their symptoms and their lifestyle. This helps us save lives. We see patients weekly who come in not feeling themselves and end up being diagnosed with a cardiac problem, such as blocked arteries. Women are especially surprised to discover they have heart disease because the symptoms often present differently in women than they do in men.”
And with more than 30 percent of the U.S. adult population being overweight or obese, Dr. Kallal’s medical weight loss program is not only designed to help patients lose weight and keep it off, but to reduce co-morbidities such as type 2 diabetes and hypertension. “We have years of experience treating metabolic disorders and obesity and provide plans that are custom-tailored for each patient. Treatment can include Lipo B or HCG weight loss injections and nutrition planning and education, as well as prescription medications,” explains Dr. Kallal, who holds a master’s degree in nutrition as well as a medical degree.
Allergies are another common affliction, especially among those of us living in North Texas. Once again, instead of simply prescribing medication based on symptoms alone, Kallal Medical Group gets to the bottom of what’s causing the allergies. Their quick, needle-free allergy skin test screens over 72 common allergens in Texas.
“Treatment can include immunotherapy for long-term allergy relief. We offer two options for immunotherapy, including in-office weekly injections and sublingual drops, which can be self-administered in the convince of your home. It’s just as effective and much more convenient than in-office injections,” Dr. Kallal says.
Last but not least is Dr. Kallal’s cutting-edge, minimally invasive in-office treatment for varicose veins and venous reflux disease. Treatment takes only an hour and there’s no downtime. Patients can resume normal activities the next day.
