Hunt Regional Open Imaging of Rockwall
Thomas Saadeh, MD
Hunt Regional Open Imaging of Rockwall exists to give patients more answers with less worry. At its helm, Dr. Thomas Saadeh administers and oversees an extensive list of outpatient diagnostic imaging services with 3T MRI, low-dose CT scan, ultrasound, and digital X-ray, in addition to minimally-invasive, image-guided procedures. “Open Imaging utilizes the area’s only 3T MRI and is uniquely staffed with a board-certified, Harvard-trained radiologist on site,” Dr. Saadeh said. “We offer high-quality imaging with rapid results. Our goal for every patient is to provide diagnostic answers and smart treatment options.”
Meet Dr. Saadeh
Thomas Saadeh, MD was born in Dallas and received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University, graduating summa cum laude. He received his medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine and completed his internship at Houston Methodist. Dr. Saadeh completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine and served on staff at Texas Children’s Hospital. He completed a fellowship in abdominal imaging at Harvard Medical School Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where he trained in advanced imaging and minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. When not on the job, he is a husband and father who cherishes spending time with his family and working outdoors.
“Every aspect of our patients’ imaging or procedure is individualized to answer a clinical question as efficiently and comfortably as possible,” Dr. Saadeh said. “Radiation doses are minimized with X-ray and CT. From the imaging sequence to patient positioning and music preference, we aim to exceed expectations.”
Hunt Regional Open Imaging of Rockwall offers walk-in services, certified and registered radiology technologists, and disc images and web client access are available for referring providers. Same-day testing and results are available for CT scan, ultrasound, and X-ray exams, while same-day appointments are available for MRIs. Saturday services are offered from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and include:
- Non-contrast CT (CAT) Scan
- Non-contrast MRI

Hunt Regional Open Imaging of Rockwall is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology. They offer the Rockwall community image-guided procedures including biopsies, aspirations, steroid injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and myelograms, as well as these cutting-edge imaging technologies:
- Calcium scoring is a non-invasive computed tomography (CT) scan that detects the buildup of calcium in the coronary arteries, offering important information regarding 10-year risk of developing heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, and death from cardiovascular disease.
- 3T Prostate MRI is a non-invasive test that uses advanced, multiparametric software to provide excellent detection of prostate cancer.
- Ultrasound Liver Elastography allows a simple and useful assessment of tissue stiffness to determine the presence and reversibility of liver disease.
- Low-dose lung cancer screening CT is a non-invasive procedure which evaluates the chest for any signs of lung cancer, even in individuals with no signs or symptoms of the disease.
- Pediatric specialty-specific exams with low-dose CT, digital x-ray, and ultrasounds obtained with the help of an experience, highly-trained staff.
- Painless breast ultrasound to examine the fibroglandular breast tissue without compression or radiation exposure.
- MRI Enterography is the preferred imaging investigation of small and large bowel disease particularly in the setting of inflammatory bowel disease.
MAGNETOM Verio 3T MRI
Hunt Regional Open Imaging of Rockwall’s MAGNETOM Verio 3T MRI is the world’s first open-bore 3T MRI and delivers the most accurate results available anywhere. When you need an MRI, your future health can depend on the clarity and detail of an image. This 3T MRI is twice as powerful as a standard MRI, making it easier for experienced doctors and expert radiologists to analyze the image and accurately diagnose your condition.
The MAGNETOM Verio MRI offers excellent image quality and diagnostic capabilities, along with exceptional patient comfort, thanks to a large 70-cm opening. With one foot of spacious headroom, patients will feel noticeably farther away from the top of the magnet.
Tight confines of older MRIs are no longer an issue with the 3T MRI. The system’s large opening is wide enough to accommodate a diverse array of patients, including those who have traditionally been hard to image, such as children, larger patients, the elderly, and patients with claustrophobia. In addition, the technology of our 3T makes patient repositioning virtually unnecessary, allowing increased speed for most MRI exams.
Cardiac Calcium Scoring
A cardiac CT scan for coronary calcium is a non-invasive way of identifying the location and extent of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. Because calcium is a marker of coronary artery disease (CAD), the amount of calcium detected on a cardiac CT scan is a convenient way of evaluating whether you may be at increased risk for heart attack.
- Coronary Disease Risk Factors
- High blood cholesterol levels
- Family history of heart attacks
- High blood pressure
- Cigarette smoking
- Overweight or obese
- Physical inactivity
The goal of cardiac CT scanning for calcium scoring is to determine if CAD is present and to what extent. The exam takes little time, causes no pain, and does not require an injection of contrast material. No radiation remains in a patient’s body after a CT examination.
Talk to your doctor about the benefit of knowing your calcium score and whether you may be at increased risk for heart attack. Hunt Regional Medical Center offers a cash price of $90 for cardiac CT exams for calcium scoring.
Low-Dose Lung Cancer Screening
Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined and nearly half of all cases are in the most advanced stage at diagnosis. Hunt Regional’s ACR-designated lung cancer screening centers offer a fast and easy lung cancer screening that can detect cancer before it becomes symptomatic. Studies show that screening with low dose CT can reduce the risk of dying from lung cancer by 20%.
Most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid, will cover this exam if the following guidelines are met:
An individual 55 years of age and older who currently smokes or has quit within the last 15 years and has at least one of the following criteria:
