After opening The Woodlands first medical spa in 2000 and a second location in Houston one year later, Mary Ann Urban and Stacey Upchurch started their business providing laser hair removal and grew to a world class medical spa with over 33 professionals providing superb customer service and state-of-the-art procedures including photofacials, skin tightening, CO2 skin resurfacing, body contouring and cellulite reduction, Botox, Juvederm, tattoo removal, clinical skincare, waxing, permanent makeup, lash extensions, electrolysis, massage and much more.
Just when you think these two women couldn't possibly accomplish any more, hold on to your hats because Mary Ann and Stacey have taken off again.
After being in the same location in Houston for five years, Mary Ann and Stacey knew it was time to take the next step. In April 2012 they opened a breathtaking 3800-square-foot facility located in the inner loop of River Oaks, Greenway Plaza, West University and the thriving downtown area. This beautiful spa opened on the heels of the most exciting accomplishment that Mary Ann and Stacey have experienced since opening their doors in 2000.
In September 2011, these women opened the first state-approved training facility in south Texas for laser hair removal, photo facial, vein reduction, tattoo removal, skin resurfacing and body contouring: Avante Training Institute.With the help of their professional state-approved staff, they have trained over 100 students. The reputation of the high quality of training at the institute has spread quickly, leading businesses near and far to call for referrals from the student list when hiring.
As you can imagine, many people have asked,“What is the secret to your success?” Mary Ann and Stacey will tell you they stand on common ground in the belief that their business was built by faith. Mary Ann stated, “We take no credit. We started our business on our knees asking God for direction.” Stacey finished and said, “We don’t make a move without seeking His will. So I guess you could say God is our secret.”
